I like it. Appears to be a normal weapon, but with a creepy twist. The groan is a nice touch.
There's a catalog of anomalous items over on Everything2 - 90029, an organic semiautomatic handgun that fires teeth. I wonder who inspired who?
Incidentally, if I can secure permission from the author, that item would make a worthy SCP itself - though it would probably count as 127-2, not an entirely separate entry.
I had reclassified this one also, from Euclid to Safe, based on the line "SCP-127 is considered no more dangerous than a normal firearm of its type." I don't see a reason to revert it before the Mass Edit, unless someone comes up with a good reason why it should be Euclid.
I concur, should be Safe. If anything, it's less dangerous than a normal gun because you can't reload it - you have to wait for its ammo supply to regenerate.
Doesn't mean the Foundation wouldn't hang onto it, though.
Actually it's more dangerous than a normal gun, because you can't unload it and it spontaniously reloads itself. Firearms should never be stored loaded, and the clip is specifically noted to be non-removeable. This doesn't mean it's not "Safe" (I agree that it's safe per the SCP Foundation definition), but by the standards of basic firearm safety this thing's designer was massively irresponsible.
Guys, also take into account that a maniac running around with it will have a bad time when the fired his 60 rounds. I mean is he going to sit in a bank for half a weak with a calcium bath and wait for ammo to grow?
You've terrible misconceptions about the purpose of firearms.
Assuming there was a human designer in the first place.
Ah, good point. I was thinking dangerous in the "how much damage could a lunatic do with this" sense, not dangerous in the "how likely am I to hurt/kill myself while routinely handling this" sense. The fact that it's permanently in condition 1 does make it considerably more hazardous to handle than a normal firearm, yeah.
I like the image, although you should probably take out the link to the guy's website, as it… y'know… kills the mood/feeling.
Agreed. The watermark on the image detracts quite a bit.
EDIT: I went ahead and edited the image to remove the watermark. Problem solved.
Seems heavily inspired by the 'gristle gun' in the film eXistenZ. Still, it's well-written and stays fresh despite wearing all if it's influences on it's sleeve. But the question begs to be answered: would a smaller-caliber weapon fire baby teeth?
I like it just because I'm a fan of guns.
The moment I read that it shoots teeth and groans I decided this was awesome. +1
I dunno. I get the feeling that if this thing were to be submitted today, it would be downvoted into oblivion by the end of the week.

Probably because it's got a drawing
I really like this one, and I disagree on both counts. First off, it's interesting. Second off, there's an actual justification for an artistic rendering - it's the only way you'd get a cross-section illustration like that.
A lot of the old SCPs would suffer this fate if they were posted now indeed, but this is also due to the fact that these SCPs have been posted be before precisely. Sometimes you need a first.
I believe that a description of the effect that the gun has on its target should be included. We know that it fires teeth, but does that make it more or less effective than a conventional weapon? As it is there is no explanation for why SCP even wants to duplicate results.
I don't think this article needs any additions; it's near-perfect as it is. It shoots teeth, what else do you need to know?

Because it's cool!
