So, you people think my posts are too noblebright, do you? Too happy? Too cartoonishly silly? Well how's this for some grimdarkness: Three-quarters of a million decaying, disembodied brains being tortured in an undying limbo for all eternity? Ah ha ha ha, AH HA HA HA, M'WAH HA HA HA!
I'm not actually the biggest fan of End of Death, mainly because I've always been interested in futurism and even though much of it is set over a hundred years in the future, End of Death sort of fails at its futurism. The horror of the situation is somewhat contrived, with one transhumanist wiki member even commenting on the rampant 'Deathism' of the Canon. I spoke with one of the Canon founders on chat, and he had never even heard of Engineered Negligible Senescence. When I criticized the idea that these people would still have American style healthcare, the concept of free, universal healthcare even seemed foreign to him.
The actual rules of the Omega-K don't seem entirely consistent to me either, but I was working off the assumption that any cells responsible for consciousness cannot be fatally damaged, but can receive non-fatal damage that results in declining cognitive functions.
Anyway, despite all of that, I did have an idea for a 'fate worse than death' and thought it would make a good addition to the Canon, so here it is.
This scip is also notable for the reappearance and first official named appearance of The Fixer Uppers, the same parasurgeons responsible for SCP-3619.
*750 000 brains scream in agony*
Ivan: Dmitri, all of our brains have herpes!
Dmitri: *shrugs* these things happen.
Brains: Help us!
Ivan: Fix this!
Dmitri: Okay, let me try something.
*turns of the WiFi. It does not come back on*
Dmitri: Okay, so now we know not to do that.
*sound of Dmitri being dopeslapped*
Long post collapsed. ~Zyn
It looks like this SCP is going to survive, which means I have achieved my random ass goal of having at least one SCP in every century of Series V, just as I did for Series IV. From now until the 5000 contest, any SCPs I post will be posted in the lowest available spot I can get.
