This is SCP-4556, where it should be.

Photograph is mine; aerial imagery is from the USGS and modified by me. Any resemblance to any real location is both intended and correct; this electrical cabinet exists in real life where it does in fiction, and you can visit it, if you're nice and you tread lightly.

Copper mining at the Liberty Moly project did, in fact, cease because the copper ore contained too much fluorine, poisoning the geobacteria they were using to leach the copper out and literally killing the mine. Check out that technical report in the footnote, it's fascinating!

they try to think around the fact that the object Is Certain Things, but it goes further than that, more than they know, maybe more than they can know. Site-4556 is a conceptual reference to SCP-4556, after all…

I like this scp so much because it's sort of comedic relief character minus comedic part. So, calm relief object? Nevermind.

It's sorta mysterious and unexplained like some dangerous keters, but it's the opposite of that. It's a change of pace after reading about triple digits of casualities caused by a breach, making you really feel how dangerous those (other) scps are. And on the other hand, this scp makes you think woah, not every scp is spooky scary many people died and will die, while it's nature and purpose of creation remains a mystery.

Huh. This is a nice skip. I don't really have any complaints because of how the skip works; it makes a lot of sense in how the article is written and the information they hold.
