Note to self - ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer.

But on a more serious note I've been wanting to write an essay on this topic for a while. I guess this just gave me the impetus to force me to do it

I'd like to than Elogee Fishtruck, Rockteethmotheyes, Uncle Nicolini and PeppersGhost for feedback.

Justification

Ok, so a shaggy dog story is technically a long rambling story that doesn't really have a point to it. It only gets by on how absurd it is. Or in other words, they are poorly paced stories. Therefore, in some sense this essay is a guide on how not to write a shaggy dog story as your SCP. They should be tight and concise, much unlike any shaggy dog story.

When I pitched this idea people told me I should go for it and I did. So sue me.

After jamcon I'll expand the addendum section but I can't do it now because of the rules.
