Challenge 1: Make an Author Avatar.
New characters are few and far between on this site. We usually default to things like Clef or Gears or Bright, and because of that, I feel this site is a bit poorer for it. So, let's make some new character, specifically author avatars, specifically good author avatars.
Well, that's a bit of a misnomer, honestly. By default, an author avatar is kind of a Mary Sue, since, obviously, the author wants themselves in their work to be perfect because they want to be perfect. But, to quote an obscure children's cartoon from the long ago era of 2013:
Perfect is as perfect does and perfect ain't what perfect was, and now it's got us all abuzz, there's no more perfection because nothing is perfect, don't try to make it so.
The criteria for this are as follows:
1) The author avatar cannot share your username, or any part of your username, other than the fact that it's composed of letters of the same alphabet. Hard mode: Invent a new alphabet and write a tale about them using only that.
2) The author avatar has to have at least three traits that make them like you, and at least three distinguishing traits from you. Hard mode: don't use any traits from yourself. This invalidates the challenge.
3) The author avatar must have some character flaws, and believable ones. This can be something as simple as being an arrogant asshat or something as complex as being a corrupt asshole. Hard Mode: Make a character entirely flaws. No strengths whatsoever.
4) This Author Avatar can be anyone in the SCP Universe. Hard mode: Make your author avatar the actual SCP Universe.
Challenge 2: Write an SCP or tale that's entirely unplanned.
This is simple: just start with an SCP Number, the format, and then start writing the description and containment procedures, entirely off the cuff. Don't plan anything, just see how it all unfolds.
Challenge 3: The Crosslink Challenge!
Use a Random Number Generator with numbers between 2 and 2999. Find the SCP Number it chooses, and write an SCP that crosslinks with that in a way that makes sense. Don't link SCP-105 with a crocodile that poops rubies or something. And yes, the crosslink has to be an actual link, as in, a hyperlink somewhere in the text of your SCP.
If it lands on 173, 682, 106, 343, 239, any SCP on the Heritage List, an unused slot, or an SCP with a negative rating, you may roll again.
