Subject raises their bound hands
I know this was intended because clinical documents don't refer to gender, but "their" is plural and "subject" is singular. I believe it should read "its bound hands."
Upvoted, though. This is wonderfully wacky.
I would assume most people are aware of this by now, but just in case: the use of “they” and its derivatives for singular subjects is grammatically valid.
I like the concept, but the thing suffers from some pacing problems and some of the dialogue is very unnatural. Have to downvote for now. I'll check back in on it later to see if it improves.
Echoing these sentiments-although those issues didn't prevent me from upvoting anyway. I quite like this.
And if the whole world is crashing down… fall through space out of mind with me.
I wouldn't call it problem with pacing, so much as the story being convoluted. There really wasn't any reason for the Foundation to get involved here.
No vote.
EDIT: And this is called me not paying attention well after not eating for 25 hours. There was, indeed, a reason for them to pursue this case.
Upvoted, but the interviews could still use a bit of revision.
Personally, the unnatural dialogue is one of my favorite parts of this article. The four subjects appear to have been forced into the roles of bank robbers, and the unnatural way they speak accentuates the artificiality of their situation.
If that's what other guise were talking about, then the 4 together's unnatural dialogue was intentional
EDIT: I've done some revamping of the dialogue and such, hoping to make it sound more natural and such. Didn't realize how stilted some of the stuff was until now, sorry.
It's not, actually, the dialogue outside of them together was also a bit awkward. And if it was intentional all over, I didn't see any evidence as to why. That said I don't think it's going to turn into a big problem. ;)
As a group, the subjects are able to communicate complicated details and abstract concepts to one another non-verbally, and develop a higher tolerance for physical pain as a group.
PICK ONE!!!
Seriously. That^^ reads funny.
EVIL CHARLIE's ANGELS!
Plus one!
With telepathy.
So, you know. Not Charlie's Angels.
Shouldn't they at least be Euclid? Safe seems to be a bit of an under reaction to homicidal women who threatened to slit a Foundation researcher's throat.
Payday 2 fan here, I absolutely loved the article. Thank you for not butchering the payday gang and all those involved while making this SCP!
And uh, if this wasn't inspired by anything related to the Payday game, then ignore this.
