Aren't the rules about necroposting in the per page discussions a bit different? I've seen several times (including staff) necroposting per page discussions without contributing much to the conversation.
Such threads are kind of weird, which is why several prior iterations of the "Thread" discussion page ended up shut down and wiped.
That said, it is still is important to know how to determine when a comment was posted.
I like some of the entries here, but I really think that we could make do without that new-hire orientation.

ahninjas: Here's my explanation on the "anything is discussable" phenomonon, copied from the Meta-Thread.
It's a glitch in the Wikidot Matrix. Every page on a wiki must have a discussion page. Even discussion pages. Hence the metathread: a discussion page for every discussion page and forum thread on the site, including itself. The graph of discussion pages has three levels and no loose nodes, with a single arrow pointing from a regular page to its discussion page, every discussion page and forum thread point to the metathread, and the metathread points to itself.
Now go take a Class B before your brain implodes.
