Fixed them. Sorry. Thought I took care of them all.
Hey, I remember this one! I wrote the first lines of the description.
I am going to refrain from making an obvious Soviet Russia joke and instead question why the big fish was speaking in English for the "no meat" sentence. I mean, even for someone who doesn't participate in fishing, it'd still be pretty obvious as to why he was rejected. I'm also a bit iffy on making the human fishers actual fish… It reads like something out of a comic book or a really bad joke book.
Issues aside, I really liked this and will give it a upvote, but I kinda wish it was a bit more subtle and less Soviet-Russia-y.
And if the whole world is crashing down… fall through space out of mind with me.
In all honesty, I found the punchline rather trite and I second the inexplicable english comment by Thekillerax (the same thing that bugged me about the "To Serve Man" twilight zone episode - that a double-entendre like that inexplicably worked in an alien language, nvm how the hell did they translate it).
Also, couple minor problems.
SCP-2468 tends to appear in populated yet open areas, including urban parks and town squares. The subject has shown a tendency to revisit places which have resulted in a successful yield.
Why is it referred to suddenly as subject after being called entity for two paragraphs before? Makes it sound as if you're talking about something else.
Upon reaching a distance of thirty-five centimeters from SCP-2468, victims are lifted by an unknown force to a height of approximately two meters, and dematerialize completely, along with SCP-2468.
This sentence is confusing, straight after describing calls for help, it suddenly talks about victims. I suggest this replacement.
If a living organism of sufficient size ([describe limits, author]) approaches within 35cm of SCP-2468, it is lifted by an unknown force to a height of approximately two metres, then dematerializes, along with SCP-2468.
Your complaints have been registered and will soon be taken into effect.
Ahem, it has been 3 years and I still see those mistakes he mentioned…
Worth the necro-post.
Well it got my upvote. But I'm not sure about why the SCP targets things with above 55 Kilograms. Is there some sort of significance to it? Though this might be my problem since it's about midnight where I am and I skimmed a few parts. :|
Because fishermen don't keep catches that are too small.
And if the whole world is crashing down… fall through space out of mind with me.
Yes, but please note the part where there's three of them and one of them is larger than both.
This isn't some fishermen mass-fishing for money.
This is a fishing trip. With a father, and two children.
The tone seems a bit un-clinical to me for most of this article, but I like the idea. Declined to rate.
