Hey all! Thanks for reading my Cliché-con entry! The cliché here is spooky scary murder monster!

The image comes from here; it's free to use and edit, both of which I did.

I want to give a big thanks to everyone that helped me by reviewing it in chat (Roget, AtillaThePun1, Cyril, A_Sack_Of_Potatoes, I2K, minmin, RockTeethMothEyes, Voct, and Jabyrwock) and on my forum thread (Elogee FishTruck and Zyn). Thanks also to Croquembouche, for helping me get [the file] working properly (if indeed it still is, and I haven't screwed it up again).

I also want to give a SUPER SPECIAL MEGATHANKS to shaggydredlocks, who was SUPER in-depth with me and helped me a shitton more than he reasonably had to. I couldn't have done it without him.

The nursery rhyme, is it a real German nursery rhyme or did you make it up for this SCP?

I made it up! However, just earlier today I was informed that there's actually a real German nursery rhyme that is SHOCKINGLY like this and it's a total coincidence! Isn't that crazy?

Hey there,
This is one of those SCP that really give these weird vibes off.
Besides that i love to see SCP thats origin is in Germany and historical too.
My only contra is that the ryhme has a weird rhythmn or is hard to transalted word for word in to german. But thats something you coverd in the description.
So yeah +1 from me.

Hey, thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

I'm aware that literally translating the nursery rhyme into German doesn't result in an actual rhyming text, or even a well-flowing one. I can't speak German well enough to write an actual, proper poem in it, so I just settled for writing something in English that sounds like it's translated. If this article ever gets translated to German and the person that does it manages to turn the poem into something that rhymes, I'll give them all the praise in the world!

(In all seriousness, it may not work for everyone. Some browsers block it by default, for instance. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page and find it under 'files', though. You could open it in a different tab and just let it play to get the same experience.)

EEXXCEELLLEENNT.

Really good monster, German folklore is full of creepy jazz for inspiration. One of the best monsters I've seen on the site in a while! The carefully detailed behavior is amazing, with each layer only adding to the overall horror.

But yeah it was a great effect, i had a video on at the time so i was really disoriented for a while

I think what makes this SCP unique amongst other standard monster-nomalies, is that its appendages can move independently of their own with the added clicking and cracking noises to a rhythmic beat. That alone, is one of the best representations on how to write your standard spooky monster for your modern Foundation.

All in all, this is worthy of my upvote.
