Hello! I'm using this page as a hub to make finding my work easy and put some thoughts on my output down to paper screen.
- SCP-9765 - A simple format screw used to tell a story about a person seeking something they have lost. Your opinion of this may depend upon your tolerance of unresolved mysteries, but it's written by design to leave you with the same questions as the protagonist.
- SCP-9414 - Have you heard about the way that social media content farms ensure children keep watching their content, absorbing as much attention as possible? This SCP follows very simple rules, and it's only showing you what you respond to most- which is clearly what you must want to see.
- SCP-9464 - I'm kind of surprised the basic concept of this hadn't been done yet, since the similarity between anomaly containment and nuclear containment is so obvious, and there are many anomalies the Foundation would want to preserve into deep time. The torch was a fun idea I previously had when brainstorming CSS I could use in an article and seemed like a good match. I like the text I have as a story, but I do agree with some critics that it could be more haunting, so I am trying to engage them and come up with some improvements.
- SCP-9505 - I like this one creatively; I like the atmosphere, the point, and the originality of it. The art is great, too. I think people expect more horror from the presentation than it really offers: it's actually a quiet, hopeful piece. Probably the most likely of my works to be self-deleted.
- SCP-9864 - Born from a real political frustration, but demands you think about the mechanisms of the UN to get through it. I like the unseen character of Mateo Duarte a lot.
- SCP-9365 - Pretty self-explanatory, with a generally clear story and a couple of easter eggs. Born from things I see every day on the street and on the internet. Image precedes and makes reality; an ordinary man provides a surface on which social assumptions can be revealed.
- SCP-9453 - My first and only 'puzzle room' SCP. Partially a reaction to the explosion in public interest in the Eastern Roman Empire. Partly about what makes a state legitimate at all. Also about religion.
- SCP-9223 - A piece trying to extend something personal to me into a general philosophical problem. Again I try to muddle black-and-white conceptions of things. Running theme!
- SCP-9903 - Kind of dumb, but it was fun to write and was the OG Kuiper prison SCP before someone decided to play it straight.
- SCP-8683 - Fun, characterful, a result of a challenge to myself to write about something I supposedly know a lot about but rarely see in stories. Was not as good on posting but benefitted from some post-publishing fixes to the ending. We probably should edit our SCPs more.
- SCP-9430 - My return piece to the wiki; a great story hindered by a lack of initial hooks.
- SCP-7721 - Posted in 2023, a prior return piece I guess after I learned to write well between 2017-2021. Still the piece I have the most affection for. Excellent tight narrative and explores themes I love.
- SCP-2667 - I think there's some charm here, and the concept is fun, but it is a product of its time.
- SCP-1639 - I had never played Fallout when I posted this in 2012. I also did not know very much about jazz. I thought that jazz would fit in very well with the post-apocalypse. The logs are the whole piece and make it.
Recommendations (I will try to come back and add more later):
- SCP-453 - An excellent 'ancient choreography repeating' SCP.
- SCP-4668 - One of the more interesting memetics articles (I think memetic contagions are generally overplayed but am always happy with a fresh take).
- SCP-5052 - Excellent worldbuilding and great depiction of competent professionals.
- SCP-5550 - Great character work and use of historical inspiration.
- SCP-6670 - Very effective, disturbing horror from a simple setup and storyline.
- SCP-9606 - Poetic, with a remarkable amount you can analyse in a very short package.
- SCP-9981 - Brilliant atmosphere executed by a master of the sudden realisation.
- SCP-248-EX - Perfect execution of the -EX conceit and study of web subculture.
- SCP-CN-2845 (SCP-INT link) - Recommended to me by
fogflower. An excellent descent into madness narrative that will make you really want to learn about a certain Tang dynasty poet.
