Dusty Pearl

An unpublished poem by Dr. Pearl N. Langstrum

From dawn till dusk

You ponder still

Identity your rock

Identity your dream

You crawl through your days

Clacking away at your little keyboard

Scribbling on your clipboard

Listening to their sorrow while you are so bored

But you never truly feel like they do

Do you?

Would you know?

When you are not one of them?

When you are not like them?

They wouldn't accept you

Because they wouldn't know you

They'd see your real face and throw away the key

So why risk it?

You can't be different

For you are just paint on a wall

Dusty pearls gleam in the twilight after all
