Percival,
I inform you that the situation in Gorična has reached a critical point.
The revolt has inflamed every District of the city. Everywhere I turn, there are marches of hundreds and hundreds of people waving banners and raising weapons against the few remaining law enforcement officers.
Our candidate for the Council of Six has already left the city, and the latest news is that he's taking refuge in a hotel in Trieste. Those stupid idiots in charge have decided not to receive me and have shrugged their shoulders; they firmly believe that covering their eyes and ears and giving free rein to these packs of beasts is the best way to avoid being hung by their ankles in the Market Square.
Our commercial activities are interrupted: the city's port is under siege, our cargo ships can't even get close to the docks, and our warehouses are being reduced to ashes despite the eternal rain of this cursed place.
It won't be long before the uprising reaches headquarters, and worse still, it opens the door for the Foundation and other scum to exploit this Carnival to steal our products and data.
I still can't believe that the main gateway to the Southern European market on both sides of the Veil could be about to be taken away from us by a bunch of thugs.
However, there are some ways to mitigate the damage.
I've been contacted by representatives of companies in the surrounding areas; don't be fooled, as you might have guessed, they're mostly cutthroats boasting dreams of glory, drawn by the smell of blood. But there's one name who particularly stands out from the crowd.
It's not a well-known company, and it's already had some issues with the Foundation, from what I've been told, but given the gravity of the situation, I think it would be foolish to refuse a business proposition out of hand. Given how the situation is worsening by the minute, I'll forward your contact information directly to the CEO so he can communicate his offer to you.
I'm attaching all the details about him and his company that our employees who haven't yet fled have recovered.
Yours,
Ruprecht Sidereal Carter

Subject: Product Presentation
Dear Sir Darke,
I introduce this mail by emphasizing how honored I am by the attention and opportunity you have granted to my company, especially in light of these turbulent times that needlessly take away time from those who have the power to grant it.
As a businessman, albeit in a currently modest market limited to a single nation, I understand the importance of appearances: the man who wrote that there is no such thing as bad publicity was certainly unaware of the causes and consequences of Free Port revolts on the transfer of capital.
Therefore, as already discussed in person with sir Carter, my company is ready to succeed to Gorična as your company's vassal in order to prevent the access to the Southern European market from being interrupted. Men are fickle, ready to topple crowns and overthrow thrones in the name of freedom, but offer them the illusion of control over their fate and the resulting prosperity, and their spirits weaken, and the new "Friend of the people" is ready to dominate them with smiles and benevolence.
A hospital, a new wing for the public library, and the supposed freedom from the control of a harsh master: my company is ready to offer all this in exchange for access to the market you represent, guaranteeing the passage of your cargo through the most important port in the Adriatic Sea on the other side of the Veil, not yet subjugated by our common enemies.
As proof of my loyalty to the cause, I present to you a product that can demonstrate the potential of my company for the needs that men of your caliber and nobility may ever encounter.
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Fausto Farnesi MD

In its solid state, Delendases® is physically inert and can withstand temperatures between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Avoid exposing the product to humid environments before use to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Exposure to the compound is not teratogenic.
Use in pregnant women is not recommended at the lowest dose.
2.1 Composition (% w/w):
- Delendases® (80)
- Adjuvants (20)
2.2 Description of properties:
Delendases® is a thaumatologically modified enzyme (TME) whose purpose is to induce the apoptotic process in every cell composing the tissues and the organs of the human body.
For use in the human body, it is produced and sold as a 15 mg spherical pill, corresponding to the minimum dose necessary to activate the effects of the active ingredient.
Lower doses can be used for subjects under 45kg and under 12 years of age by using a part of the pill, but below 10mg, the effectiveness of the active ingredient is not guaranteed.
The pill can be dissolved in a glass of water or another liquid, but for effective and complete results it must be consumed within 5 minutes.
When ingested, the hydrochloric acid in gastric juices activates adjuvant substances to accelerate intestinal absorption and transport to all tissues. Once it crosses the cell membrane, the enzyme is able to induce the apoptotic process in the cytoplasm by inducing the formation of the apoptosome and the induction of the caspase enzyme cascade.
This normal and common process of cellular metabolism is then replicated by any cell adjacent to the cell receiving the enzyme, causing a rapid general dissolution of the organism.
Within 3 to 5 minutes of ingestion, depending on the individual's bone composition and fat mass, the subject's body will be completely dissolved, generating only an almost imperceptible amount of solid residue and gas as waste.
2.3 First aid measures:
In case of accidental ingestion, it is essential to induce vomiting within the first 30 seconds and contact your doctor or thaumaturgist.
The product cannot produce its effects upon contact with skin, but it is highly recommended to rinse the affected areas thoroughly.

Dear Dr. Farnesi,
Your words certainly do not lack the resoluteness you could have shown in your brief conversation with my partner, but faced with a request that would undoubtedly prove far more advantageous for you and your small company, I still have a slight doubt to share.
Although scant, the informations about your lineage and the vocation of your business activities, aimed at benefiting your mother, are certainly not secret. How, then, can the CEO of such a enterprise speak to me of alliances, "vassalage," and loyalty?
As the child of a forgotten deity, I assumed you would know the value of making someone believe something.
Best regards,
Sir Percival Atherolis Darke

Dear Sir Darke,
I am deeply saddened that my proposal may have offended you by the sincerity of my intentions.
If you agree to try our product, you will understand that, despite the initial lack of resources, Febris Pharmaceuticals is a serious company, unlike dubious, highly unreliable and unqualified individuals that have given the parachemical market a reputation for ineffectiveness and danger.
Our products combine the magic feared by Roman emperors with the science of the future; there is no room for error or omission.
And if my origins and the mission that guides my company may seem like a conflict of interest, I can assure you that none of this will interfere with the nature of our business. As you know, what we produce is a prayer to a goddess whose lineage I can claim, so our intent is to maximize the scope of our activities according to the laws of the market.
Whether pharmaceuticals or other goods, production and sales are fundamental to us, and this is where our loyalty to a company like Marshall, Carter & Dark lies. We would in no way hinder those whose support allows us to do this, and we are equally confident in preventing it from happening, whether the threat is internal or external.
You may still think all this is only beneficial to me, my company, or the deity who created me, but that doesn't change the fact that from one day to the next, Gorična will be out of your reach and directly into the dirty hands of some vulgar and mediocre cocaine-dealing gangster, or worse yet, into the complete custody of the Foundation.
Goodbye Gorična, goodbye Southern Europe, goodbye Mediterranean.
An economic resource like few others that will be permanently sealed off from any other real business man who knows how to make a real profit from it, and this, only because there was no one trustworthy to manage the situation.
Therefore, Sir Darke, I ask you again to consider my proposal and accept the Febris Pharmaceuticals product I initially wanted to offer you, a symbol of our business and our methods.
Mei fidem virtutemque experere2 .
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Fausto Farnesi MD

| The Item description was attached to the first email sent by Dr Farnesi prior to sending the first shipment of the product to the London headquarters warehouses. Despite initial doubts, the product is indeed as effective as reported in the paper. The amount of residual dust is quite negligible. Indeed, it has the potential to be a top product for the 2008/2009 fiscal year. New shipments of the product are expected in the next weeks from our new business partner. |
