Kondraki Logs from 9/6/███ to 9/20/███.
#
9/6/███
I will be out today assembling some photos of butterflies, since the Foundation wants to identify similarities to SCP-408 in other specimens.
I will document all my discoveries with a camera provided by ████.
- Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher
#
My first discovery of a butterfly along the Foundation's garden seemed to be a butterfly being eaten by a spider.
I have clipped this photo into my diary for further analysis.
Death is so simple.
I, of course, attempted to free the butterfly after my documentation, but unfortunately the spider did not want to detach from the butterfly.
A lost cause in my attempt to preserve these specimens in my collection.
All I could gather from the butterfly's wings, which were left over, was that they were orange and black in color.
My assumption is that the butterfly belonged to the species Danaus plexippus, commonly known as the Monarch Butterfly.
It's unfortunate that I couldn't save this butterfly in time to preserve it.
No identifiable similarities to SCP-408 that I could recognize from just a far-away angle.
- Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher
#
After traveling further down the path, I noticed this butterfly struggling to fly past me.
It finally landed on this flower petal.
Reminds me of a friend.
I noticed upon further inspection that it is a Common Brimstone Butterfly of the species Gonepteryx rhamni.
I decided to take it back to the site for an attempt at healing the butterfly from its injury.

EXPERIMENT LOG
DATE: 9/6/███
[BEGIN LOG]
[Dr. Kondraki walked to his designated laboratory as he held the specimen in his hands.]
[The specimen attempted to flap its wings as Kondraki set it down onto the table.]
[Kondraki grabbed a couple of tools from the table as he gently pinned the specimen to the table, using the tools to inspect for the injury.]
[The specimen wiggled around before Kondraki accidentally stabbed the right wing of the specimen with a sharp pair of scissors.]
Kondraki: Shit, shit, I didn't want to, I'm so sorry!
[The specimen squirmed as Kondraki removed the scissors, the fragile wing attached to the tip as he panicked.]
Specimen: You stabbed me!
Kondraki: I- [Kondraki paused as he held the scissors in his hand] … [He sighed], I apologize for stabbing you. I wasn't paying attention to your… squirming.
[The room went quiet for a moment as the specimen tried to stand up, stumbling as it did so.]
Specimen: Should've paid more attention, bug boy.
[Kondraki struggled to speak for a moment, feeling like the room was obstructing his vision.]
Specimen: What's wrong, Kondraki? [The specimen giggled], Are you feeling nauseous?
[Kondraki started breathing heavily as he brought his hand to his chest, he could feel his body sweating as he heard overlapping whispering in his head.]
Specimen: You don't want to admit you're not yourself anymore, do you? [The specimen slowly crawled over to Kondraki.] You're imagining things, Kondraki, in your head.
[Kondraki suddenly opened his eyes to look down at the butterfly covered in blood. He looked at the scissors in his hand, fresh blood dripping from the tip.]
[The room's lights buzzed as Kondraki placed the scissors slowly on the table, he huffed.]
Kondraki: I'll worry about preserving you later.
[Kondraki walked out of the laboratory.]
[END LOG]
Closing Statement: The only similarity to SCP-408 during the experiment was the specimen's ability to communicate with Kondraki.
Additional Note: After a staff member from the Ethics Committee reviewed the footage, it was revealed that Kondraki was talking to himself.

I decided to explore further outside the site, it's the only way to calm down my brain.
Not only that, but i've been seeing more butterflies lately, more than usual. People always claim that they can't see them and act like I'm crazy.
I'm not crazy, I swear I'll find a butterfly on this trail again.
-Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher
#
9/7/███
I discovered another butterfly on the trail today, it was more beautiful than the rest.
My favorite kind.
This butterfly appeared to be a lepidopteran taking the appearance of a zebra butterfly. Unfortunately, I could not grab this butterfly for testing.
For some reason, every time I tried to grab it, it made my head hurt. I'd rather not repeat my mistake again.
-Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher

9/12/███
I took a break from finding butterflies for a while since I found this butterfly larva.
It's hatch day today, but I found a couple issues.
The larva itself seemed to have some deformations and a sooty appearance.
This larva seemed very magical to me, it was promising me peace and a new life, if I offered it blood.
I hesitated but the larva squirmed as I felt my eyes itch and my vision go blurry.
All I remember is opening my eyes to the larva no longer being on the table with my arm dripping blood.
I should go back outside.
- Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher.
#
9/13/███
I have enough confidence in myself to grab another butterfly.
So, I decided to continue my exploration on the trail.
For a while I walked and didn't find anything before stopping at a flower.
Reminds me of a time of peace.
I couldn't grab this butterfly in time, it felt like when I tried to grab it, nothing was there.
Oh well, must have flown off.
This will conclude my research at this time, since there were no other butterflies.
- Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher.
#
9/14/███
After finishing my research, the Ethics
Committee allowed me my own butterfly collection. These butterflies are all preserved with entomological pins.
My collection
I am forever grateful for my collection, even if I still see their wings flutter once in a while.
-Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher

Hello, it's Simon Powell.
We need Dr. Kondraki's medical log for further information on how to approach Kondraki, since he has not been answering anyone.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Simon Powell
#
Hello, it's Fishback
I have collected the medical record of one of Dr. Kondraki’s check-ins being logged, it should be available below.
I could unfortunately only grab one within permission, so I apologize.
Sincerely, Fishback.

Medical Log
Date: 9/17/███
Subject: Dr. Kondraki
After conducting some inner tests with Dr. Kondraki with the Ethics Committee's permission, we have come to the conclusion that Dr. Kondraki has psychosis which may cause hallucinatory episodes. With these hallucinations, we have noticed Kondraki having more depersonalization episodes. These episodes do not cause violent or dangerous behavior towards others.
These episodes may include Kondraki feeling detached from his body and thoughts, being unable to tell what is reality and what is fiction.
We have also noticed Kondraki talking to butterflies along the trail and have requested the Ethics Committee to check on him.
- Sincerely, Dr. Fishback

Hello, it's Simon Powell.
Just checking in on you since the butterfly incident and making sure you're okay.
We are all worried for you, Kondraki.
Please get back to us when you can.
#
Kondraki was lying on the cold floor as he watched another email ding through. He huffed as he couldn't get himself up to look at the email.
He felt like an injured butterfly as he squirmed against the floor.
Suddenly he stopped squirming as he felt his body go limp, feeling like a sharp tip was penetrating through his non-existent wings.
#
Hello, it's Simon Powell again.
You haven't answered your emails, we are growing more worried.
#
One day, the emails stopped, following the Ethics Committee's decision to stop sending emails to inactive accounts.
#
Hello, it's Simon Powell.
As an Ethics Committee member, I am worried that the medical department treatments are no longer providing anything to the Foundation. I recommend halting treatment for certain patients to observe improvement in finances until then.
Please consider my recommendation moving forward.
#
Hello, it's O5-1
The O5 council has considered your suggestion and it is approved.
Thank you for your suggestion, Simon. It is always great to hear from you.

The document listed below was found in Dr. Kondraki's diary, inside his blood-stained office.
Simon cut my medical aid, but he keeps checking up on me. Does he know that, I don't want to talk?
- Dr. Kondraki, Head Researcher.
