THE CONFLICT


 
In a time lost to history, King Solomon the Wise created Seven Keys with the power to bind and control. He used them to impose order upon the chaos, and wrote the rules of magic. Or so the legend goes.
In 1881, a cabal of German occultists killed God. A god, anyways. The god of magic, specifically.
By 1939, a different cabal of German occultists seek to birth a new god of magic — one which they control. All that they need to fulfill their plans for world domination are the Keys of Solomon. Even worse for the world, they have a head start.
For 6 years, the secret powers of the world will fight them in the shadows, using every magic and science at their disposal.
This is the Seventh Occult War.


 



THE COMBATANTS


 
Obskuracorps — The occult arm of the Ahnenerbe (the research and propaganda institute of the Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary secret police force of Nazi Germany). For years, they have been acquiring artifacts from across the Old World, with only one goal in mind: conquest.
Thule Society — A proto-fascist cabal of German occultists with close links to the Nazi leadership. They are the main source of mystical support for the Obskuracorps.
Order of the New Templars — The militant arm of the Ariosophists, an esoteric philosophy and cult. Though officially banned by the Reichsführer, the secret society still includes many high-ranking Obskuracorps members. Not directly associated with the true Templars, despite claims to the contrary.
Allied Occult Initiative — An alliance of the major occult powers, formed to oppose the Obskuracorps. Despite their diverse ideologies and interests, the members of the AOI share a single goal: to stop the Nazis, by any means necessary.
British Occult Service — The premier occult agency of the British Empire, and one of the founders of the Veil. They are the main political force behind the Initiative, and its primary connection to the Allied governments.
Holy Order of Knights Templar, Reformed — In hiding since 1312, the Templar Knights have recently reformed to oppose the unprecedented threat of the Obskuracorps. Their Knight-Commandos serve as the primary shock troops of the Initiative.
International Center for the Study of Unified Thaumatology — A multi-national research center and university, dedicated to the study of unified thaumatology. They are the main source of research and development for the Initiative.
Josef, the Golem of Prague — An ancient Kabbalistic golem created in the 16th century to defend the weak and protect one of the Keys of Solomon. Accidentally reactivated by the Obskuracorps, and now their greatest foe.
Ancient Noble Order of the Gormogons — Opponents of the Freemasons, the Gormogons are an elite corps of demolition experts specializing in destroying anomalous structures and breaking defensive wards. They are the main source of combat engineering for the Initiative.
Universalist Order of the Æsir — A cult of Scandinavian neopaganists, highly regarded for their extensive knowledge of runic thaumaturgy, particularly divination. They vehemently oppose the Obskuracorps for their racist perversion of Norse lore.
The Foundation — A private paranormal research and defense organization, dedicated to the containment of anomalous objects. From the safety of its headquarters in the New World, the Foundation seeks to delay its inevitable entry into the war for as long as possible.
MTF Alpha-61 ("Death's-Headhunters") — The largest conventional military unit fielded by the Foundation to-date, formed with one goal and one goal only: to destroy the Obskuracorps and win the Seventh Occult War.
Site-246 — The Foundation's reliquary vault for storing artifacts recovered during the War. Built underneath the bed of Lake Superior, the site is designed to withstand any possible attack by the Obskuracorps.
