Hello! Welcome to my art page! This is where I organize all of my SCP related artwork. I'm not striving for anything in particular, just a place to put all my stuff that is easily accessible for people like you! This page contains character designs, rendered work, and comics.

For general information; I'm a college student attending RCAD for illustration. I want to be a character designer and comic artist in the future! I spend most of my free time drawing stuff for this totally niche fandom of SCP.

Outfit Redesign

Dr. iceberg was the second author character I designed. I took the idea of a guy who's perpetually cold as an exciting design challenge. He wears 4 layers of clothing, 3 of which are heavy and thick. His top layer is my design for the lab coats for personnel working in the colder regions like Antarctica. It is thick, fluffy, and very insulated.

His shape language is boxy and sharp. He's hard headed, temperamental, and forever mildly inconvenienced by his anomaly. However, this is tampered by the fact he's the assistant to probably the most brick wall man you could imagine. I wanted him to feel icy. I usually draw him with a runny nose, frost bitten lips, and red cheeks and nose (which weren't included in the side profile for clarity reasons).

I designed Gears and Iceberg to have matching shape language in the clothing, since Iceberg is his assistant. Most of the time, Iceberg is my favorite to draw – however, he isn't my favorite in general.

Where did the years go?

Dr. Gears is admittedly my favorite author character, kind of a lame fave I know! I'm so original with this one guys! I ended up nailing his design pretty fast; I wanted something thin, put together, and rectangular. The only thing I changed after his initial design is I adjusted his cane and changed his hairline.

Anyways, everyone knows this guy; the emotionless cog in the machine of the Foundation. He has the will to do what was needed, but not the heart. I didn't want him to come off as too intimidating, or too stereotypically emotionless, because I don’t think he is. For what it’s worth, he used to be a loving father. He does all of this because he knows he's doing something for the betterment of the world, yada yada. He used to be a soft man, before it got in the way of his ability to help, and I wanted to convey that in his design.

Cimmerian

Wait just one? Swear I had more.

Dr. Cimmerian! What a man! Another design I didn’t find too difficult, and one that hasn't changed much since my first lineup. Yellow pinstripe suit, black dress shirt, yellow tie, big scar. Why try to change perfection?

My biggest gripe with my design of him is that I'm never happy with the burn scar. I’ve always been an advocate for scars not being pretty. I think they're neat.

As for his shape – I don't have art up here yet but – I wanted him to be an upside down triangle with big broad shoulders. Someone with a lot of confidence, someone who moves with a little bit of swagger. He's a good talker, smooth with his words. It's his job after all. But behind those padded shoulders and bell bottoms is a sad sad man who drinks himself to bed every night.

Bell bottoms are hot.

I mean really how hard can one design be?

it took me 3 weeks just for the hair.

Good grief where do I even begin? Dir. House has been the biggest pain out of everyone to design – and for what? My need to make his design match with the aura of the character? I think it’s something like that. For a while he just looked like bbno$, it almost brought me to tears. My design of him has gone through wardrobe change after hairstyle change after face redesign.

My biggest priority after his design of my initial lineup was to make him look more associated with hell (and maybe to make him a little fruity). I messed with that fuzzy suit design a bit, but ended up going back to the original pinstripe suit I had, only with suit tails. I had a lot of trouble with his hair. Not included here is endless doodles I made trying to figure out how I wanted his hair to look. I knew I wanted there to be horn-shaped hair flicks, but I couldn't figure out how to make it look subtle. For a while he had ram horns, but I felt like it looked too much like Jschlatt, so after another day or so of struggling, I decided on something more gazelle-like. House has the same shape language as Cimmerian for the same reasons. He's a confident stuck-up who has the power and brains to back it up. Oh and sunglasses, because he felt like the kind of guy to wear them indoors.

New Head Concepts

New design

Dr. J Millar was by far my favorite to design of the bunch. For those who don't know, Dr. Millar is The Volgun's character he plays as in his SCP readings! His videos were my gateway into SCP for years, and I wouldn't be here without them. So for that, Dr. Millar was my first ever design.

Dr. Millar's design is entirely based on one tweet Volgun made which, probably jokingly, canonized Dr. Millar as a sentient tape recorder. I love mecha, so I was more than excited for an excuse to make a robot tape recorder. For his design, he's a little soft around the edges. His lab coat goes all the way to the floor, and he wears big clunky gloves. The only part of his robot body thats visible is the tape recorder itself. He's an anomalous training specialist, so who knows; he might just be the last friendly “face” you see before you get evaporated by the anomaly he's telling you about!

New:
I updated his body recently to be more robotic and less human, I was unhappy with how his head in particular looked so I redid it. Not much to add, I am much happier with how he looks now :)

I actually have a lot to say here. Thanks to coldeye, I was thoroughly pulled into the Decommissioning department and it's accompanying Director. I could not tell you why I like Bold. He's like a black mold in my head I want to weed out with fire. I really like him though. A lot of SCP characters here are such stoic people, and I think I found it a breath of fresh air to find a coward who only panics and hides in the face of danger.

As for his design, before I was commissioned I was leaning heavily into the little media of Bold we had. Casual, maybe business casual, T-shirt, probably sweats, but then…. it happened. 50 something arrows later, he's a blueberry and I had just spelled doom for every artist after me. Overtime I changed it, mostly lowering the amount of arrows and figuring out the silhouette I wanted. Bold to me is a very square guy. Broad shoulders, not very fit, carries himself with this air of… smugness? He's too confident, makes you wanna punch him.

For smaller details; I used to draw him with a nasal tube. Very recent choice to get rid of it. I didn't like how clunky the mask was and I thought it would be fun to add. I ended up forgetting to draw it a lot, and Calibold said the mask wasn't permanent so I laid it to rest. The one thing I am never getting rid of is the rainbow eyes. Say what you will about the blue rocks, But kaleidoscopes are a psychedelic nightmare! I think the multicolored rocks show that better visually compared to the original blue. More blue on top of the blue outfit and blue glasses would've just been too much blue.
