OnlineOpossum's Awesome Art Exchange

Hello!
As the title suggests, I'm OnlineOpossum, and this is a collection of everything I made for 2025's Art Exchange Event. This was my first time participating, and I had so, so much fun. I can't wait for the next one!
Doing this event really got me out of a creative slump, and got me excited about making art again. Alongside my main gifts (for my giftee aismallard), I challenged myself to make as many bonus gifts as I could. If a prompt gave me inspiration, I would make it!
Speaking of these gifts, that's enough from me. Happy Art Exchange, and I hope I'll see you all at the next one!
MAIN GIFT
5510 | UNIVERSAL REMOTE
Digital art, Photo editing
I thought just drawing a TV remote would be a bit boring, so why not the TV instead? I tried to replicate a classic cartoon title card a la Loony Tunes, and found a photo of an older model of TV to match the retro feel. I edited the two together in Ibispaint, using some preset effects (like noise) and drawing some of my own (like the scanlines!).
5900| PITCHBLACK
Digital art, Photo editing
Some articles took me a while to ideate for, but this one came to me right away. My immediate mental image was of an eye in the sky struck inexplicably blind. While I did try to draw the satellite at first, I'm awful at structural/mechanical objects, so I decided to go the photobashing route and draw the eye on an existing photo.
9201 | ACID
3D Print, Digital art, Photo editing
It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for my art exchange gift, and I went through a lot of different concepts. My first idea was a series of drawings depicting different computer errors and glitches in the ACID program, but my lack of software knowledge made ideating really difficult. But I still wanted to make something for ACID, because I love this article!
The arcade cabinet is about 15cm tall in real life, 3D printed from a file I found on Thingiverse. The decals were drawn in Ibispaint, scaled to the appropriate size in Inkscape, printed, and had a layer of clear vinyl added for a glossy look. While the decals were glued on in real life, the screen is a pixel art image I drew and then edited on in post.
4322 | SLEEPLESS DREAMS
Wood, Fabric, Fabric paint, Fineliner
This was the last piece I made for my main gift, and definitely the most abstract. I wanted to make something with textiles, one of my favorite mediums, and this is what I landed on. It was machine-sewn, and actually quilted, with a layer of batting under the patchwork quilt top! Each square represents one of the broadcasts mentioned in the article, and though it's very wonky and hard to see, the radio face is engraved in the headboard.
BONUS GIFTS
9770 | MY MOTHER, MY LOVER, AND THE GOLDEN CALF
Gouache on paper, Digital art
For xexnoncores
9770 is a fantastic article, and Skitter is an extremely compelling character, even if he has one of the worst haircuts known to man. I was inspired by the lighting and compositions of Renaissance portraits, like 'Lady with an Ermine'. I painted the portrait in gouache, scanned it, and painted the background in digitally, to not risk bleeding or smudging.
6771 | MAN WHO CAN'T SEE MILK
Digital art
For syuzhet
This was inspired by those missing posters that used to be on the sides of milk cartons, which I thought would be suitably unsettling inspiration for this unsettling article. I think about this SCP like once a week.
9002 | THE BIKE THAT MAKES YOU RACIST
Colour Pencil
For mothmanUXO
This is a parody of this drawing. I'm not sure why this image came to me so strongly, but it was a lot of fun to draw. I couldn't find what medium the original drawing was done with, so I used coloured pencils, with an oil-based pencil filling in the more saturated black areas.
7687 | OVERFLOWING
Embroidery on felt, Crystal glass beads, 3D printed frame
For BlazingPie
The article has such a beautiful melancholy to it, and I thought embroidery would be the perfect medium to capture that kind of tone. Once I finished stitching it, the hoop it was in looked a bit plain and underwhelming, so I found a frame on Thingiverse and 3D printed it!
8974 | WILLIAM IS ALL OVER THE PLACE | (CW, GORE)
Foam clay, Acrylic paint, Soft pastels, Gloss glaze
For ProblemPal
This article really gets under my skin (in a good way, I really love 8974), so I wanted to make something to 'pin down' that feeling (haha). However, this came out way grosser than I originally intended it too. Once I started with the paints and soft pastels, I got carried away and ended up with…this. The inspiration for the theming and composition was pinned butterflies, to capture the feeling of being dissected and under observation.
8229 | LEARNED HELPLESSNESS
Foam clay, Acrylic paint, Fabric, Wood, 3D printed typewriter
For flembus does not match any existing user name
This article is delightfully funny and nasty, and is another one where the idea for the piece came to mind immediately. I love mixed media! (Which you can probably tell by this point). A side note; the expression reference I used for this was a photo of Jerma. No one captures fear like he does.
9989 | SALP CHAIN!
Fineliner pen, Digital art
For frozenFoxB
I LOVE Junji Ito! His art has heavily inspired my own, especially his body horror compositions and linework. Salp Chain is a very fun 9k entry that was also inspired by Junji Ito, so I knew I had to do my best impression of his work for this piece.
9030 | TAKE IT ON THE CHIN
Gouache on paper, Digital art
For GravelEnthusiast
This is one of my favourite 9k entries, and the last bonus gift I made! (Finished it just in time to submit it). It's a crossover of two pieces of media from the excellent genre of Fever Dream Talk Show.
8060 | TOONTOWN
Plasticine stop motion, 2D Digital animation
For Monkeysky and ratking666
VIEW THE ANIMATION HERE
8060 is one of my favorite articles on the site. Trying to make something that matches it in tone, creativity and weirdness is a challenge, but I gave it a shot! And what better medium for an art piece about this article than animation?
THE SUN
Gouache on paper, Digital art
For Aftokrator
I'll be honest, this has nothing to do with SCP, like, at all. But when I saw these two prompts:
- "Something that drowned in the river and/or something that died at sea (vibes)"
- "The unmatched power of the Sun (also vibes)"
This evil tarot card manifested itself so strongly in my mind, I had to draw it. Or else. It's also heavily inspired by the Midsommar opening mural!
Since I don't have anything to link for this drawing, check out the article that inspired Afto's incredible main gift!
DR. BARRIKADA
Gouache on paper, Digital art
For KatyaStrangelove
Keep an eye out for more entries to the series 'Woman of Stone and Blood' coming in 2026! It features Dr Barrikada, who first appeared in the excellent 9140. She was really fun to paint, and I hope I managed to get close to her likeness! (Although I think she ended up looking a bit like Shelley Duval haha).
BALL HOG
Digital art
For esther619
Another article to look out for in 2026 is the mysterious and powerful BALLHOG. Since there's not yet an article to link to this, check out Esther's authorpage!
