Treespeak is a very fun SCP-9000 Entry. It’s about an entirely non-anomalous form of communication between trees. The bulk of the article is centered around describing how this language takes place and it’s fascinating because you could probably learn to string together sentences of your own by the end of it.
I absolutely love this kind of linguistics-focused stuff so much that I wrote an article of my own about a Sarkic script. It’s just one of those things that is exciting and fun and incredibly interesting. For this, I wanted to kind of visually represent the three main chemical signifiers that the trees produce to communicate. So, I used three different colors for that.
I also… realized while I was drawing this that I COMPLETELY forgot how to write in cursive, so that was kind of fun to try and re-learn. And by kind of I mean not at all. But, I still think it turned out fairly good.
This is one of my favorite articles of the whole contest just from a pure “this made me happy” angle so I’m glad I got to draw it!
