The SCP-9000 entry “A Prince Among Men” by Dysadron is one of those few favorites I mentioned. A Prince Among Men is a 90s sitcom. It is about the son of a wealthy man, Cornelius, “Nell,” Prince being sent away to live with a family in the Lower East Side of New York. We learn immediately that SCP-9000 resulted in what is described as the most significant containment breach ever.
I’m not going to say anything more about this. It is extraordinarily good and I really want you all to read it for yourselves. So, as for what I’m drawing, it’s a living room with a TV set, a table, and one of those little rugs or mats with the roads and houses. It’s a family program, after all. It would only make sense to have a family watching it.
My mom never really liked sitcoms, but on nights when I couldn’t sleep I’d lay next to her down in the basement on the couch while she watched horror movies. I wasn’t allowed to look at the screen so I’d lay turned away with my head on the armrest. But I remember one time I did look and saw something horrifying. I started crying, of course I did, I was like 3,4,5 and she… laughed… really hard. Which, not a great thing to do to a child but a kid getting scared is reasonably funny. But that’s not how I saw it. I saw my mom laughing at the TV. This article feels like that.
