ART EXCHANGE
2025

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR PARTICIPATING!

Dearest Foundationers,

It’s that time of year once again! As the holiday season moves into full swing, it’s time once more to think about the acts of giving and receiving wondrous gifts in the 14th Annual SCP Foundation Gift Exchange!

In life, there are no guarantees except for what we make for ourselves. To hang your happiness on the deeds of others is to risk inevitable disappointment – so I bring to you my ultimate tip for Joy.

All I want for this holiday season is for each and every one of you to put your whole heart into the gifts you make. To do something truly high-effort that uplifts the spirit and warms the hearts of your giftees. Because that’s the true spirit of the non-denominational winter holiday – giving, instead of getting. Uplifting the souls of others rather than exulting in base and rank selfishness. The first step to bringing joy to the world is to bring joy to yourself. And how might you find joy but through giving yourself, heart and soul, to the marvelous symphony of creation?

We live in a society; sometimes, people won’t do what you want. They won’t give you exactly what you ask for, but will give their heart and soul to it nonetheless. So I ask of you all, from D-class to Site Director, to comport yourself with the dignity and grace of the SCP Foundation.

Happy gifting!

Christmasly yours,
Doctor Joy Bringer, Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, MBA, CBP, PHR, MGA, LITP, EMT, CDAL, FMA, UMC

The 14th Annual SCP Holiday Art Exchange!!!

(hosted by Uncle NicoliniUncle Nicolini, AriadnesThreadAriadnesThread, LORDXVNVLORDXVNV, PlaguePJPPlaguePJP, LuxaikoLuxaiko, radian628radian628, DysadronDysadron and psychicprogrammerpsychicprogrammer!)

The Overview

Just wait a minute. What is this?

A Secret Santa event wherein users get paired with other users and make gifts for their assigned person, according to their giftee's requests. The giftee, meanwhile, does not know their gifter's identity until days after receiving their gift. Anonymous holiday fun for the whole wiki.

What exactly do we "exchange" here?

Anything, really, provided a.) you created it, and b.) you can send it over the internet. Exchanged gifts have ranged from writing, art, and music to interpretive dance, profile pictures, and games! Just make sure YOU made it, no AI generated nonsense.

Holy heck! How do I sign up?

Simply make a new post on this hub's discussion thread following the format below:

> **What I Can Give:** [What you can give]
>
> **What I Am Looking For:** [What you are looking for]

Do not put "I can receive anything!", or something to that effect, under "What I Am Looking For". While it may seem courteous to your prospective gifter, it actually leaves them with no direction for their gift, making the process inadvertently more difficult. Please be at least a little specific with your requests (while also being reasonable). Additionally, keep things within the confines of the SCP and Wanderer's Library universe. No asking for gifts on Steam or for people to write about an OC that has no relation to either wiki.

For "What I Can Give": This is your chance to brag a little! What kinds of art do you enjoy making? What kind of stories have you made in the past, or what kinds are you hoping to make in the future? Is there anything in particular that you're particularly proud of that you'd like to show off, to excite the others here? Link it! The better picture you give us of what you feel like you like creating the most, the better this event can be for everyone!

And remember, there may not be enough visual artists to go around so you should also temper your expectations in regard to what you may receive.

Also, one cannot stress this enough:

Don't sign up if you are iffy on making the deadlines, laid out below!

If you know you're busy or something's coming up that interferes with your gift-making, you should probably abstain. However, we understand if something unexpected emerges in your personal life that you could not have planned for and disrupts your Art Exchange intentions. We're reasonable. Provided that occurs:

1) Send an unfinished product at the deadline with the intention to finish it later, or…
2) Contact Uncle NicoliniUncle Nicolini, AriadnesThreadAriadnesThread, LORDXVNVLORDXVNV, PlaguePJPPlaguePJP, DysadronDysadron, or psychicprogrammerpsychicprogrammer ASAP about your situation, and we'll get a pinch-hitter on the case right away. More on that in the collapsible further below!

The Schedule

First, have a brief overview:

Nov. 10th - Nov. 15th — Signing up.
Nov. 15th-ish - Dec. 19th — Making the gifts.
Dec. 20th - Dec. 24th — Pinch-hitting.
Dec. 25th - Dec. 28th — Receiving gifts, wondering who made them.
Dec. 28th — Revealing the Secret Santas.
Anytime after Dec. 28th — Optionally posting gifts to the wiki.

Now, for a more in-depth run-down…

Stage 1: Signing up (Nov. 10th - Nov. 15th)

From the time of this thread's posting to November 15th, 11 AM EST, one may follow the instructions above for signing up. A post on this thread will announce the end of sign-ups.

Stage 2: Making the gifts (Nov. 15th-ish - Dec. 20th)

At some point after the 15th and hopefully before the 16th, we will use spreadsheets to assign every user a giftee. Expect a PM from us around those days with your assignment. From then on, it's your responsibility to read your assigned user's post on this thread and make a gift for them.

Remember: The Art Exchange is completely anonymous. Therefore, you don't want your giftee to know you made their gift. Writers often use either an anonymous Pastebins or a Sandbox page with the following CSS:

[[module css]]
/*art-exchange-2025-hub*/a#history-button, a#files-button {
display: none !important;
}
[[/module]]

Due to recent online safety laws passed in the United Kingdom, we recommend artists upload their gift to a sandbox and use the aforementioned CSS to hide the Page History and File information. We do not recommend you utilize an external image host because they are unreliable. It's not that Wikidot is any more reliable, but you can at least make it so that no one can see who the uploader is.

When you have finished your gift and want to submit it, simply send either myself, AriadnesThreadAriadnesThread, LORDXVNVLORDXVNV, PlaguePJPPlaguePJP, DysadronDysadron or psychicprogrammerpsychicprogrammer a Wikidot PM with the title "Art Exchange Gift For [Name of Giftee]" so we know who it's for, containing a link to your gift. You may send your gift at any time between November 15th and December 20th, 11 AM EST. If we do not receive a presentable draft of a gift by December 20th, 11 AM EST, we will assume that you will not submit one and recruit a pinch-hitter for your giftee. This applies regardless of whether or not you turn in your gift after this deadline.

As previously established, do not ghost the Art Exchange. If you can't finish your gift in time, just let us know! Absolutely no shame. But not letting anyone know makes it harder for everyone.

Stage 2.5: Pinch-Hitting (Dec. 20th - Dec. 24th)

During this stage, pinch-hitters (to be explained later) will work on gifts for anyone whose gifters have disappeared. It may be an unfinished draft, but giftees will at least get something. Saving Christmas and whatnot.

Stage 3: Receiving gifts, wondering who made them (Dec. 25th-27th)

Sometime on Christmas Day, you will receive a PM from AriadnesThreadAriadnesThread, LORDXVNVLORDXVNV, PlaguePJPPlaguePJP, DysadronDysadron, psychicprogrammerpsychicprogrammer, or myself with your gift! We encourage you to post it on this thread, and let others enjoy it with you! Remember to keep everything anonymous until the big reveal.

Stage 4: Revealing the Secret Santas (Dec. 28th)

On this date, we will reveal everyone's gifters and giftees in a giant list. Rejoice!

Stage 5: Optionally posting gifts to the wiki. (Anytime after Dec. 28th)

If you'd like, post your works onto the wiki itself once we've revealed the names! Remember, upon posting, to add the "art-exchange" tag and add your work on the Art Exchange Hub underneath this year's Art Exchange.

If you don't post them onto the wiki as their own pages, feel free to link any artwork you've created under the "Media Arts of 2025" collapsible.

Pinch-Hitting and Friendly Reminders

Pinch-Hitters will make a gift for someone when the original gifter cannot follow through. This will mostly come into play between gift submissions and distributions, though we'll call a Pinch-Hitter in anytime a gifter says they cannot fulfill their request, giving the Pinch-Hitter more time to fill in. However, a Pinch-Hitter must be prepared to work under very restrictive timelines, down to 96 hours.

Only sign up as a Pinch-Hitter if you're very confident in your skills under pressure. We may turn down your application as a Pinch-Hitter if we do not share your confidences. It's a bit harsh, but necessary to ensure everyone gets their gift in full confidence. If you have an interest in the position, simply state so on your sign-up post here, and also include your preferred means of contact for pinch hitting (for example, if you prefer Discord, please include your username).

The Naughty List

Due to a problem in previous years in which some people ghosted the exchange, we have instated a new rule moving forward: In the event someone should ghost the exchange and not give a heads up to the event runners that they will be unable to complete their gift/turn it in in time, they will be unable to enter next year's Art Exchange. There are exceptions to this; we are reasonable people. If you have a good reason or just realized you can't do it, please do let us know before the 20th of December and we'll get a pinch hitter on it, no questions asked.

Reminders:

  • Don't ghost the exchange. Please, if you can't make it, send a PM beforehand.
  • Remember, no extensions whatsoever!
  • If you don't have a presentable skeleton of a gift to present by the 20th, we will get a pinch hitter.
  • It's called Secret Santa! Don't reveal yourself to your giftee, and if you know something, don't let anyone in on it! Secrecy is part of the fun!
  • Keep it jolly and festive! Don't intentionally make a gift that goes against the giftee's wishes, or otherwise knowingly make something bad.
  • As previously mentioned, do not use AI Generation tools to create a gift. This will put you on the blacklist for future Art Exchanges, meaning you will not be able to participate (and it's also against site rules!)
  • All requests must be relevant to either the SCP Wiki or Wanderer's Library universes; no asking for things based off of other media, no matter how much detail you have.
  • Oh, and no smut, please. The content on this site can definitely end up in the NSFW zone, but very few people are here for erotica, so please try to steer clear of it.

Questions?

Feel free to ask them in the top level comment of this thread as a Reply instead of 'New Post'. This being said, should you choose to enter, PLEASE MAKE YOUR ENTRY ITS OWN POST IN THE THREAD, DO NOT REPLY TO THE ORIGINAL POST!

With all that out of the way…

HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY ART EXCHANGE!
