Great - Though the SCP itself was just fine, what I enjoyed even more was the subtle but noticeable attempts to establish a background.
almost sounds like Bubs from homestar runner, except evil.
Bubs? sorry, i don't follow. Never been to homestar runner, if i'm ripping something off, i'll rewrite…
Not really, the description of the eyes reminded me of the character.
Dude, you aren't ripping anything off, it's a vague corollary. Good SCP, if it is to be, it has to be changed a bit in format, but I like it
I created a account just to respond to this post
And im replying to a post made last year.
STOP DOING THIS. DO SOMETHING ELSE.
This completely lost its charm and I feel ashamed for participating.
IN CASE SOMEONE MISSES THE POST ABOVE: STOP NECROPOSTING ON THIS THREAD. GO WRITE AN SCP ARTICLE OR SOMETHING.

A relic. This is a half completed article from the bad old days before we developed a standardized article format.
So was this the original SCP-001 before the site was moved to wikidot?
No. Early on it was decided that the 001 slot would be kept mysterious. This is one of the earliest proposals, though.
actually, it's running with "first object discovered" idea instead of "most important object contained", so it's supposed to represent the rough draft for procedures in general.
unless you were talking about the "bad old days" of the setting itself, in which case yes, that's what it is exactly.
This is pretty weak… as Gears himself pointed out earlier, years ago. It's interesting as a relic, though. I like it as a 'rough draft' sort of thing.
EDIT: Ended up upvoting anyway though. :)
EDIT: x2: This ages really well for me, actually, because of the meta aspect. It's not a standardized, professional document. It's literally the first official Foundation document written, in-universe, predating the SCP designation itself.
I can see how this would have significantly different language and formatting than a normal SCP article (seeing as how it's written to be the first article), but in the end it just makes the article difficult to read.
if your reading this your gay
Reports to Overseers from recovery team after standard containment failure leads to additional containment protocols, developed by Dr. Hermann Keter. Dr.Keter was unfortunately killed in initial testing, after which creature was moved to ADRX-19.
I see what you did there.
