FYI, this page will be opened to more entries - including separate logs linked from here - if this SCP survives. (If it doesn't, c'est la vie.) For now, it's closed. If I get the chance to open it, I will be monitoring & editing all entries to make sure they stay of acceptable quality.
EDIT: Logs will be on separate pages, 093/610 style, so they can be individually downvoted if judged to be shitty. That is another experiment. Let's see how it works out, if we get to that point.
EDIT: I… don't remember about this. For now, this log can be considered open to additions. Staff can edit.
moose, you can't use 765. There's nothing anomalous about it. It's a meta piece.
if your reading this your gay
Agreed with Scan. As I see it, the duck pond does, at least, have an emotional intensifying effect toward those positive emotions. You don't generally get the level of satisfaction described from watching a normal duck pond, not as regularly as seems to be implied in the article there. If it is in fact producing such an effect, then moose's scenario is completely plausible.
The way I understand 1985, successful priming doesn't require 765 to be anomalous, just convincing 1985 that it is.
Belated note for clarification: The only requirement is that a K-Class scenario occurred with the particular subject of the priming involved. "Anomalous" or not is completely irrelevant.
For all we know (and this is likely the actual real explanation), some faction of the Serpent's Hand's mystery device was actually operating off the beliefs that people have about the Duck Pond. I mean, they regularly hang out in a Library that runs partially on metaphor, and experience entities that are literally not real and never were. The art of making things real is pretty well known to them. (Also, why I picked the Hand and not the CI.)
Why the Duck Pond? Because in the alternate universe, with the Foundation's vast increase in size, the Duck Pond was significantly expanded. Probably a massive full-on R&R resort for thousands of Foundation employees. So it was a real "take that, you rich fascist fuckers, let's turn your resort area on you" sort thing.
I actually omitted some earlier tests of non-anomalous items. I should go ahead and add them back in when I return to expand this.
Request was made by Dr. Bright, to investigate the possible seriousness of SCP-1004's effects.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Reverted an addition for having literally no content.
This is an open log, but all additions are subject to staff edits! :)
Added what appears to be the second (although the first was removed) collab entry to this log, starring my own SCP-3932. I added it above the last entry, since that seemed to be a closer.
can I get some nice "no signatures on my forum"
sigma-9 css machine broke
understandable have a nice day
I don't understand what's supposed to go under the "logs" section.
Added entry on a certain popular SCP. Hopefully Ive made it unique enough where the average reader doesn't cringe upon seeing the name of the SCP in question. I also want to mention that I used a line from SCP-2264 ("Buildings are shaped in such a manner as to suggest them being carved from a single seamless material.") to describe the labyrinth.
