Here's a quick summary of my idea:
Sentient Barbed Wire, Organic
Like a plant, ensnares living things (Animals, Humans) in barbed wire like vine bits, drags them into the ground where it then digests them in pods filled with digestive fluids.
Grows In battlefields where it wouldn't look out of place, Vines look like barbed wire (Grey and kinda metallic) but made out of plant fibre, barbs are made out of harder materials (Thorns)
Present during some battles in major wars including WW1, WW2, Spanish-American War, Russo-Japanese War. Responsible for large number of disappearances.
If any uncontained instances of the scp are found MTF Theta-4 "Gardeners" are deployed to contain.
Any civilians who are aware of the scps anomalous properties are administered class A amnestics

Is this already in use or is it free for the taking?

I like the idea but it needs to be more thought out.
maybe the plant could be more than barbed wire and also incorporate other weapons? maybe it spreads its seeds like grenades or the mouth of the plant could be a trench.

Building on the idea proposed by margssentif, what if there is not just a barbed wire plant, but a whole "trench ökosystem", that incorporates further anomalous plants and animals, like a Venus flytrap acting like a landmine or an MG-bird that uses high caliber rounds to protect its nest.

If you would like to go further you could also include different "strains" of this trench-garden, that fight against each other about vital resources like fresh water and sunlight in some bizarre version of a botanical world war.

Maybe these plants even require these battles in order to propagate their species in a similar fashion to so-called "active pyrophytes" which are plants that actively encourage the spread of wildfires to get rid of rival plants.

I believe SCP-3328 already encompasses enough of these ideas that you would need something beyond what has been mentioned here to distinguish a new article.

If I change the main focus and draw it away form the living barbed wire and make that a single part of the SCP could that work?
