After all my years of reading the SCP Wiki, this is my first contribution. This is a 049 mpreg fanfiction that was born from a dumb conversation I had with Gabriel Jade. Thanks to Cyantreuse, JohnnyWannabe, and various others from Discord for giving feedback. I was going to wait a bit longer to get more feedback, but I got really nervous and decided to just post it. I'm shaking right now. I really hope this sticks.

Edit: By the way, "Doctor Omel" is short for "Doctor Omelette." Don't tell anyone.

This is silly, but works because of it. And it's in the spirit of the fandom's renewed fascination with 049 post-rewrite, much like Everyone Wears a Mask, so it's got that going for it as well.

Eh, I'm not sure about that.

I felt that, unlike Everyone Wears a Mask, this doesn't really have much of a story (I'm also really not into mpreg stories so that might be part of it too) and the dialogue, which in my mind was Mask's strong suit was pretty lacklustre here.

I like the concept more than the execution. The dialogue is flat, and the tempo for the jokes is incomplete.

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not good at writing dialogue. This is most likely being upvoted for the concept alone. Though, could you give me any advice on how to improve the jokes?

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I sometimes wonder if weird comedy is my strong suit, and I guess I get mixed reactions. Thanks for the comment.

I have no issue with the subject, but the writing is a bit dodgy.

I was distracted by some of the word choice, and overall "loose" feeling among the action descriptions.

I'm giving it a -1 for the writing, which should be touched up a bit; I'm always pro-silly-stuff on the wiki though. Clean up the last section:

As Doctor Omel began reaching towards 049, the small plague doctor in its arms spun around and smacked his hand with a stick out of nowhere.

It was small, and looked kind of funny in comparison to its father. SCP-049 let out a gasp of excitement and picked up the small doctor, hugging it in its arms.

A preponderance of the actual sentences and actions start with "as" or are passive.

Tighten up the writing, and I'd upvote.

Issues were addressed. -1 ==> +1

This is probably the most idiotic thing I have ever, or will ever read in my entire life and quite frankly my life is probably changed for the worst, changing my perspective on one of my favorite SCPs.

I understand how you feel. Writing this was pretty weird for me since 049 is one of my favorite skips too, but I'm glad I did it.
