Okay, so I'm a new member to the site, but am eager to begin authoring SCPs.
I have several ideas that I'd like to run past the community, mostly just to make sure that they're fairly original. I like to do my own research and all, but sometimes you don't have time to read through hundreds of articles…

But I digress. Let's begin.

Idea 1: A woman who periodically gives birth to all sorts of hideous creatures via parthenogenesis. It sounds like a fairly common concept, but I'm of a mind to focus on the severe catatonia/depression that this woman experiences after literally giving birth to monsters.

Idea 2: A 100 cm x 200 cm x 100 cm glass box that contains an exact, live replica of a streetcorner in Toronto (or any major city, it doesn't matter.) Everything that happens in the corresponding real-world location would be visible in real-time within the confines of the box—sort of like a hologram, in miniature. I may include some twists/spooky bits.

Idea 3: A chalice that converts any liquid poured into it into a toxin inimical to all forms of biological life. Could be a bit common, but I'm of a mind to go into detail regarding the toxin byproduct—with glorious redactions hiding many of the toxin's important chemical properties, of course.

If anyone thinks these ideas are unworkable or overdone, please feel free to let me know. If anyone would really like to see these come to fruition, let me know that too. Any criticism is muchly appreciated.

Idea 2 sounds interesting. I for one actually prefer the "safe but WTF" type of SCPs and I think you could do very well without including spooky bits. Strange, off the wall bits maybe, but it doesn't necessarily need to be creepy.
Is it a 1:1 scale replica or a miniature?
Feels a bit like some weird-ass CCTV monitor.

Idea 2 sounds quite similar to SCP-132 to me.

Thanks for letting me know about 132, I hadn't read it up until now.
In response to ingotum per ignotius' inquiry, the scale would be at either 1:50 or 1:75; 1 cm of box would correspond to 50 or 75 cm of real-world distance.

I had thought of making the box impervious to harm—SCP-132 has been shown to be vulnerable to high heat, whereas my box would be resistant to basically all attempts to access the contents inside.

I forgot to mention—I had thought of including a description of how persons in the area that the box corresponds to would report feelings of claustrophobia and paranoia. And any changes one would attempt to elicit in the box would have an effect on persons in the corresponding real-world area. If you shook the box violently, persons in the area would report feeling dizzy; if you heated the box, persons in the area would report feeling warm; if you hit the box with a hammer, persons in the area would report pounding headaches, and so on. None of these would be severe, but enough to be noticeable by persons in the area.

I myself am fond of interesting, harmless SCPs.
