Which vote matters to you?

So, while ever vote matters, and adds to the tally, there are some votes that just make you realise that your SCP isn't bad, when you see them on yours. Like, for me, if Clef, Gears, Mann, Troy or Sorts upvotes, I know I've got a solid concept, even if it needs work in other places. So, which vote do YOU look for?

I'd say Roget, Reject, Voct, Smapti, bbaztek, soullesshuman, Drewbear, Photosynthetic, Scantron and yours. But I probably left some people out. This is all from the top of my head.

Well, like I said in my PM after you downvoted on SCP-1142, I feel we often vote the same way on articles¹. So when you downvote, I wonder why. :)

I don't check on who votes on my articles all that much, but when I do, the ones that stand out to me tend to be names of the most active & engaged people: you, yoric (before he went on hiatus), Voct, VAELynx, Sorts, Photosynthetic, Scantron, TroyL, etc. I actually don't think that I've ever received a vote one way or the other from Gears, but I'd definitely be glad to see one.

Almost every single article I've written has a downvote from yoric. I'm not sure how to feel about that really.

For me, it's the ones who leave a comment I care about most. Doesn't really matter if the vote was up or down, as long as there's a good comment with it.

I try not to judge things in this light, but I won't lie that I'm not relaxed about an idea until older members of the community upvote. It's pretty easy to get some early enthusiasm for a bad idea from newer members who just haven't absorbed as much of the overall mythos yet.

(Clef's always been my weathervane for whether or not I've royally fucked up)

You bring up a good point; those that have been around the longest and seen the most are more likely to "understand" the tone and tenor of the Foundation, making their input in that regard more valuable than, say, mine. That's a big part of why I'm taking my participation here very slowly, so I can absorb more than I contribute for now.

really? I hardly ever even read tales, and only then if it seems like other people like it so I'm way more of a follower in that department

Hmm.
In gross, I start being restful when older people have voted.
Now, more specific - Eskobar and Voct are the people I have probably discussed ideas with most.
Furthermore, Voct and Sorts seem to be folks that seem to upvote a lot of my SCPs - hence early downvotes from them are a warning sign something's gone wrong.
Upvotes that tend to make me super happy are Gene R, Photosynthetic (for one, makes it through that I haven't done a sciencefail) , Bright and yoric.

Click on Rate below the article then, "Look who rated this article" or somesuch.
