An idea I came up with, if no one minds giving the sandbox a bit more heft, would be to think of a mysterious character or item in a show, book, game, etc., write it up as an SCP in the sandbox, and post it here.

But, be vague, because we all have to try to guess what item/character it is.

Yes/no to this?

Crossovers are frowned upon, I tried one once.

Still, If there was a specific page or section in the sandbox with some fancy disclaimers, it could be interesting.

Yeah, I wasn't saying to post them on the main list or anything, or try a crossover. Just a guessing game in the forums.

Post your write up, and let someone know when they got it right, then they go, etc.

Nothing serious, really. I'd just like to see how some characters would look like if they were SCP articles.

I have an idea for one, but containment and not giving it away are tricky.

I can see where that could be fun. It might also be a helpful exercise for people who're okay on ideas but struggling with tone.
