Old author, new member

Not much to say, I wrote SCP-090 several years ago and didn't really take credit for it. Somebody reminded me that the site existed all of a week ago and I decided to check it out. But wow, I was an awful writer back then. I'm not sure what the policy is on rewrites, since I like my old concept but not the writing style. I won't overwrite the old version myself, since I have no idea how to go about proving I'm the original author, but here's my submission.

Anyway, hello, I'll probably write the odd article if I'm in an abundance of spare time and ideas. Besides that, I can correct small things like mechanics and grammar if necessary. I have a lot of computer skill as well, whenever that might come in handy.

Greetings! If you are the original author, it's good to have you back. Apocorubik's Cube was always a favourite of mine. If the author of an article hasn't shown up in a long while, I gather that we just let anyone rewrite it if necessary, after securing an admin's approval.

Thank you! It's nice to be back. Is hopping on IRC a reliable way of getting an admin's attention, or should I send a PM?

There's generally one or more admins on the IRC at any given time. You could just PM them, but it's traditional to introduce yourself on the IRC anyway.

Agh. I'm not going to lie, I'm more than a little miffed that my rewrite got reverted in favor of the old version. Seriously, self-deprecation notwithstanding, my old work was abysmal. It's clearly not a Keter, and the wording and layout is so derp that it makes me wince to look at it. I don't feel like it should be 090, let alone an SCP article.

I had a new one in the works, but now I really, really don't want to keep going with it.

Honestly? I like your work, and while I like the current version of 090, I didn't think your rewrite was as bad as was claimed. Alright, the expungement and ████s were a little too heavy, but that's no reason to give up. You should keep writing. Don't let a few complaints get you down! You should try and learn from the experience. Read up on what was written in your absence. I don't care what the others say, I think you have a lot of potential. Keep trying.

(Would you look at that, I've gone and given an encouraging speech…)
