Clarification: The java client has been removed.

If you want to go into chat, go to realtime-chat, download a client and follow the rest of the instructions.

The channel is in +R mode, meaning you have to REGISTER a nick.

I'd… assume you'd go to "Create an Account" there.

I've tried creating an account both for Mibbit and for SynIRC itself. I am still unable to enter.

Mibbit keeps saying that there's no such channel, and the only thing I can find when googling it is an empty chatroom. Help?

…..did you identify your nick on synIRC itself, not just Mibbet? That was the issue for me. And you need to have a registered nick in the first place, not just an account.

Is gmail not an acceptable email for some reason. It was telling me that the email was invalid, even it's just my standard gmail address.

Not sure… I used my Comcast email and it went through fine.

Do you have any weird characters in it? International symbols, anything other than A-Z, a-z, 0-9, period, underscore, dash, and obligatory "@"? Many email verifiers only allow "normal" ASCII.

Edit: What Chumley said. Each argument is seperated by a single space, nothing more. So this would be a valid command:

/msg nickserv register asdf1234 [e-mail]

but not "/msg nickserv register [asdf1234] [[e-mail]]".

Try not putting your email in brackets. Worked for me.

Yes! That worked. The Chat Guide page was confusing and I thought the brackets were required.

Is the realtime chat not working for anyone else? I've tried my previously-saved in-frame chat that you guys purged, I've tried connecting through the web client, and nothing is working.
