This began as a rewrite of the old SCP-948, “HOPE”, a hospital which allowed one within its walls to recover their mental scars and illnesses. It was rewritten to be as such by me back in 2010, with minor edits here and there until about 2014.
The original SCP was ported over from the old site by Far2, and was an orphaned article, as many Old Site relics are. With its rewrite, I became sole owner of the article.
Recently 948 fell below -10 and Rimple came up to rewrite it. He came up with the current draft - I’m a pretty big fan of it, as it keeps the basest essence of the idea, while going in a much more modern direction. It’s not perfect, no, but I like its direction.
The Rewrite Team decided that Rimples new draft here is not close enough to SCP-948 “Hope” as it was to count as a proper rewrite, so we reached a compromise. I deleted the old article, keeping a draft on Google Docs of both my most recent interpretation, and the oldest possible draft ported over by Far2. Rimple’s article here takes the slot as a spiritual successor.
It’s unorthodox, but the Rewrite team was more or less on board, and suggested this course of action.
NOW, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, please enjoy Rimple's article here. In the future, I shall redo SCP-948 “Hope” as a hospital again, but not here. Needs to see a rebirth, not a rewrite.
It's all Rimple's now.
