TBH, if anyone makes a new SCP game, there needs to be a facility more like this, I never liked SCP Containment Breaches design despite my love for the game.

EDIT : Found a mistake, the SCP-703 incident has SCP-649 instead of the Chocolates

I think I really like these Secure Facility Dossiers; they're a nice worldbuilding tool without being overly prescriptive.

I'm glad to see this is up already, and I love the photos you've chosen to include. The history of the site, and the bits of humor, made this a fun read. +1 Yay, world-building!

Similarly. While the writing style does appeal to me I guess, that's probably because it's the style I recall using when I wrote the background info for Origins. It's suited for a 'The Setting' page in an RP, not a 'Secure Facility Dossier'.

IDK, I think it fits Roget's style of writing SCPs since most of them might be simple (chOcOLate that makes you tasty) which I think fits the Roleplay like writing.

After reading the Site-88 dossier, which matches the Foundation's general 'voice' and is congruent with the tone in the Information pages, this was extremely jarring. I was leaning towards a downvote due to that. After reading site-81's dossier however, I understand that stylistic flairs will help to keep a variety in these types of pages, so I feel like I can upvote this in confidence.

Is this page meant to be read/ was written in universe or out of universe?

The fact that it doesn’t break character and doesn’t acknowledge that this is an explanation for the purpose of writing entries leads me to believe it’s meant to be read as in universe, but as an in universe piece the tone feels out of place. It also brings up certain questions if its in universe like:

• who wrote this?
• Was it written by the Foundation or a GoI?

If this is written by the Foundation, why mention the “steel furniture that really digs into your ass”? If this is by the Foundation, why is it so nonclinical?

• Who is written for?

Is this what the Foundation gives out to new employees? Is it what a GoI wants their sleeper cells to read?

Why does anyone in universe feel it necessary to put in foreboding remarks in site 77’s dossier like “Time will tell if this will have any noticeable effect.”? Hasn’t the Facility been around since the mid 1900’s? Shouldn’t it have been enough time to determine if it has had a noticeable effect?

• How old is the site director Dr. Shirley Gillespie if she is indeed the woman in the photo? When was the photo taken? The phone looks like a 1907 magneto wall set that someone placed on a desk, and from what I can tell that’s at the latest around the 1930. Why would the Foundation hold onto outdated technology like that? If she was even as young 16 years old in as late as 1939 she would be 93 years old in 2016 and IIRC one of the listed SCPs is dated to around 2010. It seems hard to swallow that a person with as high of a stress job as running a secret non governmental organization wouldn’t be rendered unfit for work from the health complications of high stress occupations around their late 80s and again this 93 years old estimation is a generous estimation.
• Why is has the anachronistic statement of “cutting-edge colour television” in the dossier? When was this written in universe if it was written in universe? Why has an outdated statement been left in? I realize that some of the SCPs listed as housed at site 77 are from the mid 1900s but some of them are also from the early 2000s, if the dossier is in universe and has been updated to list them, why haven the outdated statements been removed or adjusted?

Are the prior two misdirection? If so is then what good is it to the reader? As Scorpion451 and Sirens have mentioned there is potential benefit for the sake of worldbuilding but what good is worldbuilding if its based on either intentional inaccurate information or outdated information? I realize the Writing Guide page hangs the lampshade over that but as a reader how am I to tell if its outdated or fabricated?

On the subject of a “dossier” format wise this doesn’t read like a dossier. A dossier is “a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject” however the formatting doesn’t really come across as a collection of documents. While the horizontal lines sort of work as a topic change, it doesn’t scream different document. Overall the whole thing feels too cohesive and internally consistent by its own standard to be a collection of different documents.

Format wise this could be addressed by putting the topics into tabs not unlike what a dossier would look like; a quick google search and one will find that dossier brings up lots of pictures of folders and the site itself has the ability to have pages in this tabbed format, like the Secure Facilities Locations page or the Incident Reports, Eye Witness Interviews, and Personal Logs page.
As for the overabundance of internal consistency that could be addressed by having multiple authors write multiple sections of the dossier, but this goes beyond the scope of just this page.
To be completely honest the offhand portions kind of read like a travel brochure which I could certainly see having been written by at least one SCP, the number of which I cannot recall but it had something to do with a travel agency that let being who didn’t have the same senses as humans experience the earth, but this is a whole nother topic.

That said:

I think you're missing a lot of the point of these. Each is intended to be a vignette capturing the vibe of the site, a sort of guided tour of the part of the lore it represents.

Site-77 is the heart of a fantastical noir world of atomic-powered superweapons, psychic spies, and plain-talking agents in trenchcoats and fedoras. Ergo, it is written as if one of these agents were describing it.

Site-88 is, much like the American South it is located in, a crossroads between the cutting edge modern world and things that remember days before barbed wire. Only fitting that the tour guide is one such thing.

Site-64 is a relatively young and unassuming site, efficient and laid back at the same time… but has risen to some minor importance recently. Hence, a modern and clinical document that doesn't spend a lot of time on details.

Which type of noir are we talking about?
Neo and film both generally have protagonists who are detectives, whereas lit have protagonists who are victims, suspects or perps.

The narrator certainly doesn't come across as the victim or suspect. As for a detective or a perp, while foundation employees can easily be portrayed as any of the three, I'm just not getting enough of a vibe of who the narrator is supposed to be. I'm not saying there has to be a named narrator or an per-established character like in 88's but noir is protagonist focused and I'm not seeing enough to come up with a voice or an entity for the voice.

Stronger/more in depth metaphors or similes might help establish a voice that is more noir.

Thanks for the notes! I've gone through and edited it to make it more plausible as an in-universe document, mostly by toning down the facilities descriptions. I tried to do tabs but couldn't get them to work, if someone can figure it out I'll implement it.
