I'm not a fan of Oneiroi, but only because it's complicated and requires a lot of one's attention span, and mine is that of a young weasel struggling to escape quicksand, only instead of sand it's cocaine.
So I will upvote in penance.
I like Oneiroi alright, though I feel they group is a bit shallow at the moment. But this hub is… I guess I'll just echo Gaffney? It seems more interested in going "tee-hee aren't I quirky" than actually giving helpful information about the GoI.
Yeah, I'm afraid I agree with this.
I think it was trying to model itself after #Xupania to a certain degree, but what works for an article doesn't necessarily work for a hub. (Also #Xupania seemed to have more substance and coherence to it)
I agree. I feel like this is attempting to emulate the feel of #Xiupania, but doesn't quite get it right.
And if the whole world is crashing down… fall through space out of mind with me.
Agreeing with all of this.
It almost feels like a piece of the Oneiroi, but doesn't quite get there.
One suggestion I'd make is to maybe play up the dream vibe while still being a useful hub by using tabs- each tab is a different dream, with its own theme and aesthetics. Some of them make more sense than others.
That name module thing always gets me.. like "HOW DO YOU KNOW ME." This is pretty interesting though.
Hmm… I was hoping for some more details about the difference between the Collective and Oneiroi West. I had a dream that I want to use as an article, but I don't know if this should be a Collectives thing or an OW thing.
What's with all the different places and people?
Beyond that, glad that more light is shed on Oneiroi. Not glad that the goi-format is still not broken down into digestible bits and pieces.
And what does my article got to do with a Roman province?
How come the categories at the end are all places, people and things from the First World War, except "Maginot Line"?
"except" the Maginot Line? You know the Line was constructed as a direct response to WW1, yes?
In the 1930s. There's a clear decade of time between the conflict and the construction of the line and it seemed faintly out of place to me. All the others seem to have a connection to the immediate time of the war, either being a participant country, person or the name of a battle or thing from that time.
By contrast the Maginot line didn't exist at all during that war, and while it was constructed to be the ultimate defense against the kind of war that prevailed during the first world war, it was only ever actually tested during the opening of the second world war, which makes me notionally connect it to that war rather than the first.
Either way it's not important enough to make a bigger deal out of than I already have. It was just something that bugged me.
Added content to address the concerns brougth up in the discussion page, it now has clear descriptions of some of the terminology and goi format code for a whole bunch of different things, all under the "Would you like to know more?" collapsible near the bottom.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
As MrWrong said, that should've been the first priority. Shoving anything actually useful into a collapsible at the bottom doesn't exactly solve the problem either.
Honestly the best advice I can give here is burn this to the ground and start over with a new page. Put priority into actually telling people about the group instead of making jokes and linking to your author pages.
MFW still no wondertainment GOI page.
I like oneiroi so upvoted!
