SCP-575 is capable of manifesting in any area of total darkness after a period of [DATA EXPUNGED] of accelerating that time table.

you're honestly not supposed to…remember, blackouts remove small sections…[DATA EXPUNGED] can hide paragraphs, or whole pages of text.
It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a SCP-575.
Reminds me of the Vashda Narada from "Silence in the Library"…one of the creepiest Dr. Who episodes ever.
I really like this, but the use of "total darkness" kept bugging me. It's incredibly hard to completely evacuate an area of photons. It'd be better to actually put a brightness threshold in lux.

I imagine it's not that difficult in mines and other subterranean areas that have a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.
Keep in mind that heat is emitted in infrared photons, and radio waves go more or less everywhere. "Total darkness" may be possible in terms of visible light, but there is always some form of light, be it infrared, radio, or whatever.
But yeah, that should be edited to reflect that. Perhaps "complete or nearly complete absence of visible light"?

I'd like to point out that having over a hundred of these in the wild, and the sheer threat level of each of them (as a being of darkness can basically be anywhere you aren't looking in a dark area), combined with the number of bones in a picture of ONE hideout, and you'd think this would be MUCH more noticable than it is.
I quite like this. The ability to appear in any location is creepy, and the second picture really did it for me.
