In 9th grade, I watched a documentary about the Russian Revolution, which ended on what was clearly meant to be a feel-good note with the Russian Orthodox Church canonizing Nicholas II. I'm thankful my ancestors, refugees from the Tsar's cruelty, weren't around to see such a thing.

Thanks to JackalRelated for SCP-5050, which heavily inspired the structure of this piece. Additionally, thanks to Ihp for helping me come up with the name for a nexus highway, and thanks to stormbreath and JackalRelated for the crit.

Translation notes

• DO NOT HAVE MAISIE CALL THE BABY A BABY. She does not see it as a baby, but as an undead abomination. The Foundation is allowed to call it a baby.
• Mrs. Davis's dialogue was written under the assumption that she fears and reviles the god she's talking about.

This was honestly really great, although a little more obtuse than the other entries in the series.

UE, you might be the most consistent writer on the site, I don’t think I’ve read a single thing from you that hasn’t been awesome.
