Elevator Pitch: SCP-XXXX is a mentronome approximently 90x90x201mm believed to be made in 1816 by █████ ███████. The mentronome is set to be at 90 bpm and as we know unable to be stopped. The mentronome appears to be only swinging at 90 bpm yet the SCP-XXXX-1 (The Pendulum) can cut through any material without slowing down. SCP-XXXX will begin to start ticking louder if any pressure is applied to it. Loudest recorded sound was 146dB. O5 cammand because of it have unauthorized any attempts to destroy the object. SCP-XXXX cannot be damged much but can be dented. We have noticed the objects dents have slowly disappeared and the object went back to its normal shape. We are still unsure what causes this healing.

Central Narrative: I have an idea of shaping a story from my SCP ideas. Possibly linking all my SCP's together to make one story about them and how they relate.

Hook/Attention-Grabber: I have not seen an SCP using a Mentronome and I though this was a fun idea to explore.

Additional Notes: I wasn't too sure about giving the SCP so many properties. I don't know if it's overwhelming or not to readers, so maybe that should be looked into. Unless it adds to the mystery of the object

bloodynoseBT, as per the Criticism Policy, critique should be relatively in depth. Simply linking an essay does not fulfill that requirement.

Although essays are helpful in a variety of circumstances, when giving critique, you should aim to at least examine the concept at hand, instead of handing out a generic response that can be attributed to a number of concept threads.

Reviewers prioritize threads with no replies, so leaving an unsubstantial comment as the first reply can cause the author to miss out on valuable feedback from an experienced reviewer. In the future, please hold off on making the first post if you are unsure of what to say. Warning: I am fairly new to the site, and have not made and SCPs. Take my advice with a grain of salt, and if someone else contradicts me or says I'm wrong, listen to them.

My biggest issue with this is that it isn't really all that interesting, in-universe or out-of-universe.

I don't really see why the Foundation doesn't just throw it in a sound-proof box as an anomalous item and forget about it. They have to deal with world-ending threats, so don't have the time or resources to make Special Containment Procedures for everything they find. The object either has to be dangerous or unpredictable enough to need its own room, or interesting enough to warrant researching.

Story-wise, you say you will connect it to your other SCPs, but it still needs to stand on its own. Think of where it came from, who cares about it, and what it might do in the wrong hands.

Now to nitpick:

SCP-XXXX will begin to start ticking louder if any pressure is applied to it.

The idea of "thing that gets louder (unless/if) you do X" has been done with SCP-498. Not to say, you can't do that, but I suggest you read that SCP and try to take the concept in a different direction.

First, O5 is the highest level of the Foundation, and they don't have time to lay down rules about every SCP. The "no destroying" command would probably come from a Site Director at the highest. Second, the Foundation generally doesn't destroy stuff for no reason. That is more the GOC's style. The motto is Secure, Contain, Protect for a reason.

Hello, thank you for responding but this didn't help. I know you said "Take my advice with a grain of salt" but there are many things you have missed in the general idea. My paragragh was organized poorly but I believe what makes this SCP interesting is the fact O5 command got involved and the fact the object can heal itself. Also my story was gonna link it to MY other SCP ideas not other SCP's. But again thank you for responding.
