Page Type: SCP Article

Page Layout (Optional): Two research logs, separate incident log, and one interview log.

Elevator Pitch: Centers around a created, but imperfect, SCP meant to destroy other SCPs.

Central Narrative: Created by a rogue sect of the G.O.C headed by a crazed researcher, this SCP is made to identify SCPs through an advanced form of magnetoception and destroy them. As the Foundation attempts to contain it they discover that it can talk, and that each incident has an adverse effect on its psyche.

Hook/Attention-Grabber: This article focuses on a sapient SCP questioning its own existence as it slowly deteriorates from attempting to do what it was designed for.

Additional Notes: My main concern with the piece is that people will either find it uninteresting or simply ridiculous.

Before I get started, I want to point directly at your final line:

This isn’t something to worry about if you actively seek feedback and advice (although don’t take every piece of advice just because it was offered (including mine)) and write something that interests you. Not every article needs to be the next SCP-682. And you’re on a site with tomatoes that kill people who make bad puns and a haunted Tom Hanks. Being ridiculous is part of the process.

The rose of your idea is that it sounds like you have put a lot of thought into it and that that passion would shine through in your writing. Keep that passion and write what you would want to read!

I am going to need much more about this to give you an accurate set of feedback. Can you tell me more about this “rogue sect of the GOC”? Who are they and why are they considered rogue by GOC standards (who are already considered rogue by Foundation standards)? Who is this crazed researcher and how do they fit into your article? Why does this SCP seek and destroy other SCPs? What keeps it from destroying itself? How will you present this narrative in your article in a way that will be interesting for your readers? How does it destroy the other SCPs? Is it a standard process or does this SCiP know more than the Foundation does?

As the Foundation attempts to contain it they discover that it can talk, and that each incident has an adverse effect on its psyche.

How does this get explored in your article? If it can talk, what interesting things will it say? How does it talking teach the reader more about the entity? And why do these incidents degrade its psyche? How will this be explored in your article? What narrative is this presenting to your reader? I love these ideas the most of your proposals! I just am left with many thorny questions I want to know the answers to!!

Thanks for your feedback, it's honestly the first time on this site that I've felt like I have a chance of actually posting it. I don't want to waste your time but I feel like if you read the draft you'd have a much better idea, as it goes in-depth and answers a lot of your questions. If you'd like me to post a link I will but if not I understand.
