Convoy raid section is narrative, Compound life is a researcher journal, motives are shown in a transcript of a propaganda video, MTF rescue attempt is shown in an MTF log, Chinese retaliation is shown in a recording transcript of a panicked researcher while a raid is ongoing. The decision on what to do is shown in an O5 meeting transcript, and reinforced by accounting logs and manuscripts showing gun shipments and money transfers, and the Taiwanese winning is shown by a Taiwanese official letter to the people

Elevator Pitch: The tale tells the story of a large altercation between the SCP Foundation and the People’s Republic of China.

Central Narrative: Due to China’s displeasure of the SCP Foundations activities in the anomalous and wishes to dissolve the organization, they ambush a convoy of high-ranking foundation personnel traveling near the Chinese-Mongolian border. The hostages are taken to a Tibetan facility, where a propaganda video is sent to the SCP Foundation. An MTF unit tries and fails to rescue the hostages. Outraged by the rescue attempt, China raids several SCP Facilities within its borders, causing a containment crisis. The O5 council holds an emergency meeting in what to do and decided to fund a Taiwanese (whom they are friendly with) coup in order to at minimum distract the Chinese, if not collapse the government while bunkering down their remaining facilities. Taiwan wins, and SCP foundation operations in the region are damaged but recovering.

Hmmmm yeah this is pretty alright. As a dose of "Foundation and the real world" it's kind of a fresh take, since there isn't really a ton of that available currently. The only thing that concerns me currently is that, so far, you haven't really described the sort of narrative you're trying to tell outside of basic plot points. There's nothing wrong with that - I often like to let the story develop as I'm writing it, but for the purposes of greenlighting something I would traditionally like to see more about characters, themes, that sort of thing.

There's a convincing way to play this off and a non-convincing way. If you can do this properly it could be a neat little political thriller-type deal. I'll tentatively greenlight this, on the basis that you really take the time to explore these ideas more fully and really flesh out the story and characters.

I remember this from chat - it seems well-planned and I’m interested in seeing it develop. It could easily become dry, though, so I’d warn against that and recommend good characters or at least interesting interactions. But you got my greenlight so I’ll trust that to you!
