Elevator Pitch: A town where all inhabitants and contents resemble figures and objects in a child's drawing.

Central Narrative:

The main focus of the narrative would be the exploration log of the village. In its current iteration, here is the step-by-step process:

• Team enters spaces, remarks on 'unidentified' radiation and its effects on photographic imagery (simplifies it to the point of children's drawings)
• Team approaches village, remarks on odd, "lollipop-like" trees
• Team reaches village, made up of basic square houses
• Team meets instances of SCP-XXXX-1, which are spindly, scarecrow-like humanoids with large heads and severely underdeveloped facial features. SCP-XXXX-1 will continuously and half-heartedly try to hold hands with each other and the team; due to the fact that their "hands" are essentially round lumps covered with chitinous barbs, team members resist in order to avoid puncturing their radiation protection gear
• Team moves further through the village, remark on increased heat and radiation levels
• Team discovers remains of a collapsed well. Inscriptions and written prayers around the well describe a "god in the corner"
• Team descends into the well, immediate remark on increased radiation and heat
• Audio log descends into panicked shouts and gunfire as team encounters a massive, heavily radioactive creature with "glassy" eyes.
• As the signal descends into static, last image seen is a heavily corrupted image similar to the common child's drawing of a sun wearing sunglasses

I am a big fan of stories that focus on defamiliarization of commonly accepted symbolism. Heck, one of the best horror stories I've ever read is this article about dental hygiene mascots. Thus, I think it would be quite fun to write an article focused on some of the most universal symbolism we have as a species: the art we create when we're first learning how to reflect the world around us.

Additional Notes: I'm fully aware that there's a surplus of both odd locations and art-related SCPs on this wiki. If this idea is too similar to any that already exist, please let me know.
Also, I gotta say, this new idea presentation format makes things a lot easier to lay out!
