Got a little ahead of myself and wrote the first draft of the description and special containment procedures, so this was the natural next step before continuing.
I trimmed your thread summary above, since it was taking up a lot of space on the forum listing. Try to keep thread descriptions and titles under 7 lines so you don't visually crowd out other people's threads. ~Zyn
A Victorian era mirror which on the surface does what you'd expect a mirror to do. Once something makes contact with the reflective surface of the mirror however, it begins to reveal it's secrets. Organic materal tends to pass through or absorb into the mirror with ease, creating a rippling effect as a result. It is possible to achieve this with inorganic material as well though through testing has shown that depending on the material used, a different effect can be observed with varying levels of difficulty, though eventually like organic matter it will pass through or absorbe into the mirror as well.
On the inside of the mirror is where things become an issue. As found so far by the foundation there are 4 known species that dwell within the mirror. The mirror acts as a kind of gateway into a strange land with flora and fauna that is quite different to that of our own reality. As mentioned there are only 4 discovered species of creatures that the foundation has managed to locate and classify, though due to the sheer number of flora, plants and the like mostly remain unclassified and remain in research.
To end it off, most of the aformentioned material testing will of course be explained through logs and what not. While the use of a "portal into another demention" is quite overused I think with enough work it could be unique enough to stand out through the landscape and inahbitants. The concepts for the four creatures has already been thought up and I'd be happy to elaborate on them if asked.
