Desired Slots (in order): 5005, 5678, 5432, 5445, 5945 (if none of those are available my preference goes to palindromic spots, then multiplicative spots (I.e. 5315- 5x3=15)

Researcher Woods is a composite of:

• Pictures taken by me of me (dont i look purty?)
• Different Paper Texture (Public Domain)
• but the same scratch texture as before (still CC BY 2.0)

Empty Room is a composite of:

• Empty Room (Public Domain)
• Gravestones (CC BY 3.0)
• Even more (Public Domain) Paper Textures
• A different scratch texture (yet also CC BY 2.0)

I do have an "answer" so to speak for what's going on, but I'm going to let the work speak for itself for now.

Way to end it! You'd think that something where no one has an idea what happened would end the same way: no one having an idea, but you manage to actually end on a high note: keep it simple. Honestly, well done!

I truly feel as if this would be better served as a tale than an SCP. Having the narrator chime in after each chunk of misinformation to summarize and project their frustrations felt very off to me and it wasn't something I particularly cared for. Could be that using notes/journal entries to convey information is wearing on me, could be that the constant misdirection made the actual plot of things vague. Though I get that the former is matter of personal taste and the latter is the point of the article, I can only speak from my own perspective that neither were entertaining to me.

cool tale! i like the characters, and the setting, plus the interplay within the GoIs was interesting—

wait, this ISN'T a tale. it's supposed to be an SCP?

i have to novote this one. there's stuff to like, but it's… not a mainlist SCP article. it's a tale about someone working on an SCP article. and it doesn't really feel like there's anything to go on to resolve the mystery. instead, it's just a week in a researcher's life. which is fine… as a tale.

While I certainly understand the gist of what you're trying to say, the sarcastic tone is unnecessary and borderline rude. Please refrain from couching your critique in a way that is unnecessarily offensive.

this is isn't bad, but I just didn't find it compelling. the ending felt rather abrupt, and the "mystery" this entry is formed around never took shape to a point that i really cared about or that made me wasnt to understand/know more. so, something happened to a building, and the people trying to suss out why can't because everyone is telling them a different story. okay. that said, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I acknowledge that maybe there's something really obvious that I'm missing… allison's last few messages in that text exchange feel like maybe a hint? but I'm not bright enough to know for sure.

a few grammar things:

I think you can skip the final "the" in this sentence.

I think you may have skipped a word.

this just feels clunky to me, with "however" and "but" in the same sentence. I suggest "My research indicates that their plan didn't work, but they remain adamant that they had some sort of impact", or "My research indicates that their plan didn't work; however, they remain adamant that they had some sort of impact.

I hope this doesn't seem too nitpicky. I've done a LOT of proofreading and editing in my day and I'm sincerely trying to be helpful.

novote for me. I think the writing quality is good, but the story just didn't pull me in.

Mystery isn't good in doses too large. I'm given too much of a mystery here, and am simply left with nothing. Downvoted.

Oh god, what is this font? And why is some of this centered?

I'm reading this, and I'm thinking to myself, everyone's talking around something, aren't they? Even the researcher whose notes we're reading is leaving something out, possibly not intentionally. Also, strange to see SCP-5000-1 mentioned before it's ever explained. Like, not bad, really more tantalizing than anything.

With some of the way this was written — which was overall very good, don't get me wrong — I was reminded of a logic puzzle. You know, "Harry is taller than Sam, who is half as tall as Mary" types of things where you check off boxes where the lines and columns cross. So the final line makes me think there's a puzzle to solve here, but I'll damned if I even know how. Do we have enough information to make conclusions about what happened to Site-27, or is this meant to be just a huge question mark?

Was the site destruction just a computer error? It would be one heck of a coincidence if you chose xx:14:07 on 19 January 2038 as the time it goes down, but didn't know the significance of it.

No voting until I can figure out if the quality of the work or the storytelling format is more important for a narrative's inclusion on the main list.

I love it, but it feels like it's in the wrong place. And this is exactly the same thing people told me six years ago which felt like such a kick in the goddamn teeth.

You know what? +1, because whatever it is, 18 isn't doing it justice.

Okay, so I have re-read this thing like a billion times now. Here is my theory.

I believe PoI-2149 is an agent of the Hand.

This was Al. They were familiar to the witnesses because Al is a member of SH.

Actually, idk because apparently, according to the Personnel And Character Dossier, Alison Chao is generally the name of the Black Queen and/or possibly L.S. This would mean that Al Chao is somehow neither???

Yeah this definitely needs an explanation.

I'm going to add that since the camera only adds stuff to the photos, the photo with the "redaction" is actually an entity that cannot be percieved by humans, thus looking like something is missing when the camera forces it to be shown.
