This SCP is a collection of toys(racecars,dolls,actionfigures,etc) in found in a special toy box. While interacting with humans over the age of 12 they act like normal toys and don't show any anomalous Properties.

But when interacted with a child under the age of 12, the toys become animated and sentient, they will play with the child and get more attached to the child who they play with and will try to keep them happy. If the child needs or wants to stop playing with the toys the toys become sad, and will eagerly wait in the toy box until the child return (they are still animated at this point). this pattern keeps happening until the child is gone for more than 24 hours.

If the child is gone for more than 24 hours the toys will leave the box and will search for the child and ask them to play with them again. this searching will become more extreme and desperated. escalating from simple searching around the room, to actively trying to break contaiment by any means necessary. If the longer the child is gone until after a week the toys return to a dormant state.

Hmm… I'm admittedly a little unsure about this, since you have:

Keep in mind that as the author, you know the entire story, but the Foundation needs to have discovered what it knows about the SCP object through observation and experimentation. You'll need to convince your reader that someone with no prior knowledge whatsoever of the anomaly managed to somehow figure out (not magically know!) all the information you've got in the article.

Based on the information you have presented, that implies that not only is the Foundation running tests with these toys on children, they're also keeping the toys in containment at least partially during the testing period (where would the child subject be?)

Moreover though, this is a fairly bland concept since the whole "give it what it wants or bad things happen" setup tends to make the audience skeptical (also, it seems fairly easy to keep the items contained; just don't ever let anyone play with them and these are effectively non-anomalous).

I personally want to know more about why these toys act the way they do though, and why they're only animated for kids. If a parent is using the toys to play with their child, do the toys completely ignore the adult?

Thx for the feedback, I wanted to lay out the bare bones skeleton for the idea before i would write the whole thing, but to answer your questions.

1.Yes, most of the information i wrote here the foundation would get through testing reports with childeren, a couple interviews and incident reports. Although uncommon, i have seen a couple articles where childeren would be shown scp's for testing purposes (see SCP-705). In this case i would immagine that the foundation would childeren from either juvenile detention centers or orphanages (making up a cover story for where the kids are during testing, like a camp or something)and after testing would proceed to wipe the memory of the children. and of course the foundation would take care to make sure the're safe.

2. As for how the respond to adults, they tend to ignore or just tollorate adults (acknowledging the adults, but never really caring about them) if they try to play with them like a parrent with a child. the toys will resist if adults try to take the toys away from the child. as for why they act like they do, that is kind of the mystery i wanted to lay out. Why are they so attached to the childeren and not adults? Why do the act the way they do? Who created these toys?

the other part i want to focus on is the relation between the children and the toys. i wouldn't descripe the toys as extremly dangerous on their own. they really can't cause much injuries to a person (maybe if they dropped something heavy or get a weapon but that's unlikely). i would descripe it less as "give it what it wants or bad things happen" and more to akin to scp 847 or SCP-706. in both of these cases the scp desired something, and desperately tried to get it, but neither are to dangerous if you know what your doing.

i have seen a couple articles where childeren would be shown scp's for testing purposes (see SCP-705).

more to akin to scp 847 or SCP-706.

I do not recommend using Series 1 (-001 to -999) articles for inspiration. Many of these articles do not meet modern wiki standards and testing on children is so very ethically questionable.

Do you, as the author, actually know the answer to this? Setting up a mystery means you know the answer and want to give the reader hints to figure it out themselves.

Also, not to sound rude, but might I inquire as to your age and level of schooling, and whether or not English is your first language? I am seeing some very noticeable spelling and grammar mistakes in your posts. Most successful SCP authors have at least some college-level writing education, and the clinical tone of an SCP article can be very hard to get right.

I do know the story to these questions, the toys are kind of like the toys from toy story, they care about the child and just want to be played with, but with slightly different tone. As for the who created them, i imagined them as a failed Dr.Wondertainment experiment or proposal, that didn't meet standards or didn't work like expected.

This is what I would like to know. Are you intending to include this information, or at least hints to the answers, in the eventual article? If not, it might just feel unfinished and sort of like a cop-out, leaving readers more disappointed than interested.

Yeah, i am intending to drop hints in the article. I don't intend to completly redact or just leave out this information, like you said that can feel like a cop-out, but i like articles where the answer is not completely obvious, instead of directly stating it.
