So I got inspired and wrote a short thing about Doctor Bright and SCP 348. I showed it to some off-site folks and they liked it more than I thought they would. So I wrote another thing about 166 and 348. And they liked that too.
So I wrote a third thing with the Black Queen and 348, and then put them all together on my sandbox, and brought them to chat. Got some feedback, tweaked 'em up, but then never posted them.
But since it's an appropriate day, and I think they're about as good as they're going to get, here they all are.
I hope everyone has/is having/had a happy Father's Day. Whether it's with your dad or not.
I like this. Can I go through and edit for grammar, though?
Novoting because I really dislike 166 and its entry.
These are all sweet, but I can't stand 166 in its current form.
I saw "Happy Father's Day" and I should've had an inkling it was you.
I did say before how much I love it and even though part with Black Queen caught me off-guard in not really the best way possible, it's still an obvious +1 from me~
A bittersweet little tale. +1
French Onion soup might come in a creamy variety, but it doesn't have meat. Or vegetables, besides onion. But 348 might have made it that way deliberately. It's not a deal-breaker, just a nitpick from someone who enjoys French Onion soup.
I was able to guess most of the results, but still…
DreamwalkerFae has taken a direct hit to the feels.
Patient: HexaDon
Diagnosis: Deep laceration involving extensive feels damage.
Cause: A Dewman tale.
Prognosis: 26 litres of Chocolate fudge ice-cream funneled directly into patients arteries.
And a rich, hearty +1
Seriously though, as someone with paternal issues, this got me in a good way.
Thank you.
Might want to funnel it into the veins instead of the arteries. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, yiu're gonna be spurting chocolate ice-cream up out of your body with every heartbeat. And that's only the opposite of a problem when you're conscious.
But I'm glad I could provide good vibes for you. It gives me good vibes too. So thank you, sir/ma'am/your preferred term of endearment here.
I'm trying my best to switch my brain from Spanish to English so bear with me on this
Sometimes as a Father I know I literally drop the ball on things or fckup, I had a nightmare of a time with my mom & dad and I have basically evaded my mother and brothers for the last years due to some issues of how they treat my family, this story by some weird way made me feel a bit better about my self towards my daughters and acknowledge how my wife is always right with her comments towards how I tend to react as a father… I actually wish this bowl existed just to know what my father or my mother would think of me or to read a message from them & if my daughters would get "nice messages".
Thanks for the feels Dewman I needed them
Honestly, I'm not sure why I upvoted this.
The first scene feels like something I've seen before. The second, well, it's 166, and while I don't think she was the best choice to use, the scene was at least handled well. As for the Black Queen, I think what gets me is the reveal of her name, which means absolutely nothing to me. Should it mean something?
Maybe? I did my best to write each segment so that they could be enjoyed without knowing the history behind them, with the name reveal being a kind of transition from where she goes from The Black Queen Who Is So Crafty And Clever to Alison Who Just Wants To Know If Dad Still Even Remembers Her. I don't know if that counts as her name meaning something, but that was what I was trying to do while writing it. The name wasn't what meant anything, except that she stopped being The Black Queen in that moment.
Well, the shift from Black Queen to "just a human person" worked. Honestly, that could have been accomplished simply by calling her "Alison" and not "The Black Queen" anymore. It was really the reveal of her last name that made me wonder if I should know it, of it had any links to anything else on the site.
Yeah, I can see what you mean. Mostly it was just because I knew (what is commonly headcanon'd as) her full name, so I decided to just roll with that. I got it from other Black Queen tales, but it's not mean to be a connector, so much a so little detail meant as a "oh okay so that's her real name" for someone who doesn't know the reference, and a "ohh I get it" for people who do.
