the first SCP I intend to make is essentially an entire television network dedicated to broadcasting surreal animations that cause anomolous effects to the viewer based on the style said animation is animated in. Probably my biggest challenge for this one would be figuring out containment procedures. Don't have an official draft for it yet but I might make one if its necessary.
Sounds like a great idea for a SCP. Unfortunately I can't give a green light as I am working on my first SCP myself. Maybe for containment any broadcast is to be traced to its source and the source area must be searched or something along those lines.
Apologies for the delay, jet lag is not fun.
I'll have to be honest with you: as it stands, this isn't going to work. It's mostly just a thing that does a thing, an idea that lacks a narrative.
The thing about your idea is that there is no rising action whatsoever. It's just static. And without this tension, or feeling or a narrative, people will generally get bored of your piece, regardless of the anomaly in question. Remember: SCPs are stories hidden behind scientific articles.

When I first saw this response I had no idea what you meant. But I decided to read up on what you recomended me and it makes sense now.
My problem was I relied too much on what the SCP itself was, thinking that the thing itself is interesting on its own rather than the narrative that thing was connected to. I realized that having the channel broadcast surreal animations wouldn't service an interesting narrative. What motivation whould the creators of said surreal animations have for creating the animations and giving them those effects?
So I thought, what if the network was run by a religious organization (maybe a GoI of some kind) that had the goal of converting the world to they're beliefs via televised episodic cartoons? And instead of surreal animations what if it was programming geared towards children and adults? Also, instead of the cartoons affecting people based on the style, what if the cartoons have subliminal cognitohazards that embed religious messaging into the psyche of the viewer, causing them to whole heartedly adopt the beliefs of the network and the creators of the show to an obsessive degree without hesitation and regardless of conviction to other beliefs?
I could expand on this narrative by having a certain point in the SCP documentation that details the foundation tracking down and raiding the network studio and collecting copies of the libraries of every show broadcast on the network, including unfinished episodes. I could have interview logs with artists that were captured by the foundation and worked at the network that detail what it was like working there. I could have excerpts of advertizing for the network that detail its intentions. I could have interview logs with people affected by the anomaly.
I think this may have been done before though so I may need to look into other SCPs related to this concept so that I know what's out there and execute my own in a way that's unique.
I dont know, did I fix the problems my initial idea had? I hope I'm adressing the problems my idea had instead of unknowingly contributing to them thinking I fixed them.
Anyways, thanks for the critique, I hope to see what you think of my new and improved idea (if it is an improvement).
