I've been working with you doctors for years. You just don't remember.
Welcome, new recruit!
Eh… who are you again? :D
This would be cooler if it just de-aged the subject instead of changing reality; if ALL documents and memories of the subject being the previous age are modified, how do we know that they were even changed?
Regular de-aging pills would make for a really boring SCP, no? What makes these pills special is that they do everything but.
Since all records and memories are changed, it does take a bit of investigation outside of controlled circumstances, but the discrepancies can be easily noticed if they're large enough. For example, if we find a grown man who insists - along with all his friends, colleagues, and official documents - that he's 8 years old, it doesn't take long to notice something's wrong.
Vaguely similar to an idea I almost thought of contributing, but just different enough to be original. QUIT STEALING MY THOUGHTS! *lol*
I'm not sure if placebo is the right term here. They still have an effect, however illusory.
I'd also quibble over the line 'chemically identical to placebos'. Placebo pills can be any number of things (usually sugar pills), so it would be better to say exactly what they are made of. Nice idea though, +1.
We already have magic pills that are chemically placebos, and a thing that decreases age by year.
Yeah, it's possible I missed whatever this is extra-similar too (and knowing that might change my mind), but I think it's pretty good on its own.
