Finally posting this here rather than on KaktusKontainer.
This is a project currently helmed by:
Woedenaz
Croquembouche
A little more information and history for those that come wandering in to here:
Around January, djkaktus posted in the SCP Declassified discord a theme he was working on to use on his articles. I noticed a number of ways it could be improved and offered suggestions to Kaktus.
At that point, what eventually came to be known as "nuSCP" was taken up by myself. Not too long after that, Croquembouche joined the team as well and it has been our baby ever since.
The current development team is just us two, Woedenaz and
Croquembouche, and essentially has been since I took over.
Just recently "nuSCP" has rebranded to the, frankly, cooler and much better name of "Black Highlighter."
What is the goal of Black Highlighter, you may ask?
To make a more accessible SCP-Wiki layout with more current design standards.
My primary goal from the beginning was to bring more accessibility to the impaired to the project and the visual changes have, more or less, been secondary.
Just to list a few of the accessibility improvements:
- The entire layout is based on rem/em rather than px. Rem/Em units are not fixed sizes and scale depending on the base font size chosen by the user in their browser. This is an option often used accessibility option.
- The side bar is sticky which assists those with limited movement to not need to scroll to the top of the page to navigate.
- The top-bar is keyboard tab-able.
- The typeface has been replaced with Lato, an extremely common typeface that is considered highly legible due to its tall x-height and large counters.
Anyway, I hope that you guys like it. Thanks for reading. :]
