And under your bed.
Let's see how my attempt at a spoopy thing goes. Hope y'all enjoy.
Research into the notes is ongoing to succesfully create a containment for SCP-████
Containment is an action, not an object.
I found the story generally predictable and unspoopy, aside from the protagonist's logic in using mementos from childhood. Perhaps it's because I've always had two drawers that fill the entire space underneath my bed.
Well, I did my best. Too bad it didn't take your fancy.
Changed the wording, that better?
Research into the notes is ongoing to succesfully establish a containment for SCP-████.
The problem isn't the action ("establish,"or previously "create"), but saying that there is a containment. It should be something like successfully establishing containment, or successfully containing the SCP.
Edit: gah, pardon the missing words in my posts. Big thumbs do not work well with tiny phone keyboard.
EDIT: Also, I just noticed; how did we recover the SCP without containing it? Usually recovery means we found it and took it in.
Hrm. Lemme see what I can do.
RE: EDIT: Hrm. I would reckon they have it somewhat contained on-site (given that there already was a containment for it), but only as a temporary containment.
Do you keep your clothes in there so you can reach down and grab a shirt in the morning without having to get up? It's the best.
Yep. There is also a bag containing my favourite toys drom my childhood.
The suspense didn't build at all for me, and I felt like I kept reading for a payoff that didn't come. I don't know if that it wasn't long enough, or the character's voice wasn't well developed enough, or maybe it might have been a monster that was left just a little bit too hazy. Clawmarks on the ceiling, crayons, being held at bay by stuffed animals… The symbols are striking me as having been "done" before, and I'm not particularly interested.
But, as is my habit, since there's nothing technically wrong with it, I don't think I'll downvote you. None the less, I'm not impressed.

This seemed to borrow too heavily from the well known tropes for the classic boogeyman for me. Everything from living under the bed, to being protected by physical symbols of childhood innocence, this actually seems pretty similar to the plot for the movie Boogeyman now that I think about it. Nothing really came out as original, as even the writer of the diary just seems to be developing exactly as.we'd expect him to. Sorry but it's a -1 for me.
…anyone else think this is an even older member of whatever 106 is? +1
No, I wouldn't and didn't think that at all. 106 dissolves whatever he comes into contact with. This thing doesn't.
Though it would explain the thing's ability to hide.
